I am thinking of starting chaos, but I dont know what army to play, so can someone help me please?
well it really depends on what you want your army to do. shooting or assult? demons or mortals? Undivided or support just 1 god? personally i like the lost and damned list, there is just something very cool about a huge hoard of mutants and demons and best of all they get squads of spawn! that being said unless you go for lots of tratiors they do suffer against tanks...
Everyone makes mistakes. mine was to leave her head in the fridge.
This question comes up here on the board once and again.
My advice is to do like impending slaughter did. Start with the Black Legion.
This way you'll get the oportunity to field every unit in the book and then later on if you feel like it you can choose to play with one of the more specialised Legions.
Good luck and welcome to the Eye.
as has been said, what kinda army do you want? this would make our advice much more useful
I want to play deamons and assault so wot is the best army do u thimk?
OMG that makes the question so much simpler. Word Bearers. They can take more daemons than everyone else and can be geared towards assault very easily.
For assault, try either slaanesh cheese build (DP in LR army, if you've been to a tourny you've seen one) or Khorne (though they are hard to control).
I would go for Word Bearers seems to suit what you want very well
Khorne: World Eaters have excellent daemons. They are expensive, but incredibally resilient and offensive. The entire army is designed to assault the enemy, rather than staying back and firing at range. However, I would strongly encourage any, who is considering World Eaters to phys rep a small army (750-1000) and give it a whirl. Khorne is notorious for their lack of control, and this discourages alot of players from fielding a World Eaters army.Originally Posted by Farseer Nathan
Slaanesh: This is your other strong option. You have cheap daemons that don't live long, but they can take out vehicles and expensive elites. You can build a very effective c.c. Emperor's Children army. Again, I would phys rep before you buy. While Slaanesh has alot of variety between its c.c. and ranged options, they army is fairly fragile.
Nurgle: While Nurgle is a short ranged, c.c. army, their lesser daemons leave alot to be desired. I never field them- ever. They are decent against monstrous creatures, but they cannot handle the counter attack.
I say go with the Word Bearers. As impending slaughter said, they can take all daemons and can very easily be geared toward assault. i also know this because i play Word Bearers! so i agree with impending slaughter, WB is your best choice.
Wordbearers is a very good choice indeed, although slaanesh also comes in very close if you want assaultbased.
