The Souleater, Unholy One, the Angel of Despair
For those of you who don't know, this is the new Keepers of Secrets, Greater Daemon of Slaanesh from forgeworld. If you haven't seen it go check it out. Since I can't post stats, look at the rules! Damn! Is there anything that can take this thing down? It is ALWAYS hitting 1st, no saves of any kind, tons of attacks... What do you guys think? I mean even a forceweapon wouldn't do it, since any player worth their salt would allocate all their attacks to the character. All you can do is chip away at it's massive amounts of wounds and hope to kill it. S 3 or 4 characters cant even wound it!!! I know what your thinking. Shoot it right? Well since it has access to all slaaneshi powers it can just use the one that doesn't allow you to shoot at it. While completely possible to field this monster (as it's cheaper than the FW Bloodthirster), I would say it's a bit broken, especially if fielded in a tourny.
While you can't post the stats, you're still allowed to give a link to them, as long they are properly associated with GW (As such Forgeworld is).
That being said, she's not hardly worth the points. She's an over glorified Nightbringer with a few extra stats here and there. She has nothing that a normal Daemon Prince Lord can't have, besides the stats. Even her special weapon is just a renamed Dread Axe.
They dropped the ball on her. There's nothing special about her at all.
Ah, but her stats combined with these "unspecial rules" are what makes it nigh on unstoppable. What ever could kill it in CC would be taken down quickly, with the power, you can't shoot at her. You would have to chip away at it in close combat. But what about armies with litle/no cc ability, then he/she/it would proceed to take down your army piece-mail. Personally I'd kill it with mass winds of chaos, or maybe a plague sword champ, but not much else will take it down b4 heavy damage is done to your army, exceeding its own points.
I'd like to see one model try and make back 666 points in one game. I'd imagine you'd run out of turns before it did. If you use siren it just means that the rest of your army is going to get shot at with heavy weapons...
I can read now!
With 666 points invested in a single model that can assault straight into c.c., there is a decent chance that those 666 points will still be around at the end of the game, which definitely is an advantage. Of course, I seriously doubt, as jtm pointed out, that this model will ever makes its points back.Originally Posted by jtm
There's another downside, its right there outlined in her rules "my always be shot at" in addition i'd hate to say it a average Iron Warriors player will kill her before she can even get into close combat. My only question is how does siren apply to monsterous creatures since you can always target them?
This came up at the gaming store i'm at trying to use a keeper of secrets casting siren and saying "you can't target him" what takes priority since its a monsterous creature? We couldn't figure it out so we went with the good old leadership check to see if your smart enough to shoot at it.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
O dear Lord.
Please say I'm not the only person to have noticed to satanic reference in its points cost? No, it's not coincidence.
It will never make its points back, but I'm sure that the fact that it's IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL makes it more worth it.
Interesting to see it played.

If find that an interesting question.
If Siren takes presedence over the mC shooting rules, I do believe that siren is a bit to good for this model.
Well excuse me, but who cares about stats when The Souleater, Unholy One, the Angel of Despair looks so damn sexy ? She can be used for a Daemon Prince in any Emperor's Children list or a Fantasy one Slaaneshi army. For Morrissey's sake she is so damn hot....
MEAT IS MURDER
Well, everyone else notices instead that 6 is the Slaaneshi Favoured number. Much like Ang'grath (I bet I've spelt that wrong) is 888 points, with 8 obviously being the Khornate Favoured number. So yes, it is a coincidence.Originally Posted by Tunisia
And yes, Siren does apply to monstrous creatures.
