    I was helping my little brother put together an army list today for a nurgle LATD army, and was wondering if the HQ LATD Aspiring Champions with the mark of nurgle have the 'True Grit' ability. The list seems to imply that they do not, but I was just checking.

    im pretty sure they don't as the marks are different for the Latd champions. so unless it says they get true grit in the description of the marks in the eye of terror codex then he doesnt get it.

    i would think they get it because the mark says true grit and reilience and are fearless. this goes to everybody in the ary who has the mark of nurgle. but i think only models in power armour may have the true grit

    i will check on that today and right back!!!

    i'd think they get it seeing how the description of the mark sez they have true grit. if champions were different they'd have different rules stated in the codex like tzentch do.

    It directly says under the entry for the LATD Aspiring Champion.

    "Each Champion may be equipped with up to - points of items from the Chaos Space Marine armoury at the points cost indicated, with the exception of Marks of Chaos. Thanks to the Champion's rather more 'solo' career Marks of Chaos are altered as follows;
    Mark of Nurgle: The Champion's Toughness is 5. The original value of 4 is used for calculating
    Instant Death."

    This doesn't say anything about 'True Grit'

    I red the rules and champions DO have true grit and I quote:
    "The Primarch or the Death Guard, Mortation, trained his warriors to fight on foot relying on their bolter to cut down theyr enemies. Loyal to his teachings down the centuries Plague Marines have learned to use theyr bolters in close combat, a feat aided by their ability to absorb the ferocious recoil with theyr deseased bulk. All models with the Mark of Nurgle have True Grit to reflect this."

    Chaos Codex page 51

    Then theres also this line:
    Chaos Space Marine Summary page 64

    Mark of Nurgle:
    Fearless, Deamonic Resilence (+1 Toughness); True Grit

    Then I've also checked with a program called "Army Builder" which is known to follow the 40k rules real strict and there the Aspiring Champion model also has the true grit ability.

    so the answer to this dilema is: Yes aspiriing champions midst marked with Nurgle have the True Grit ability.

    Aspiring Champions for Chaos and the LATD have different rules that apply to them.
