    Giving Meltaguns to CC units?

Is it worth it to replace two BP+CCW in a close combat squad with two meltaguns? For XX points you get exactly half a MEQ wound more. Adding two marines gives you the same result but costs more. Moreover, you can instadeath many HQs and Elites with these little dragons.
    What's your opinion on them?

I like it in theory, but when you say CC units which are you talking about? When I think of Chaos CC units the first thing that pops into my mind is obviously Khorne Berzekers, but they can't take special weapons... and blood rage would make them a waste of points anyway (though giving them plasma pistols could be an option, they can hurt some characters and light vehicles)

I like it, but I would probably only give it to bikes for use as tank hunters (that could be quite nasty, especially if the aspiring champ has meltabombs and/or a powerfist)

For my IW I have several cc sqaud, their all equipped with BP and CCW, but 1 sqaud is equipped with 2 flamers and the other with 2 meltaguns, against marines they can do quite some damage as well as tackle big monsters easily.
It's not a bad combination as I have seen.

i'm new to chaos so maybe you can tell me if therre is an update or a loopole but in the codex it says that one chaos space marine can have a heavy weapon and one chaos space marine may have an assault weapon. unless you are talking about a different unit type.

I was talking about Khorne Berzerkers, who to the best of my knowledge are limited in terms of special weapons to only a pair of plasma pistols and a pair of bolters.

If the heavy weapon isn't taken then you may have a second special weapon , it's listed under the chaos marines entree in the codex.

Like the previous 2 posters stated, taking 2 meltas are entirely legal. It is a great tactic when combined with infiltrate. I field an 8 man squad: 5 bolt pistols/ccws, 2 meltas and a champ with a p. fist, all with infiltrate. It's a great cc squad for those undivided armies that cannot take a mark, plus it can trash any tanks it gets close to.
