HI, i need some help with the chaos Black Legion army list.
I was wondering if it is possible to use all 4 chaos marks in the same army?
ie: Elite : Bezerker, Plague Marine, 1000k sons
troops Slannesh ( if i include a Slannesh lieutanant?)
It says if you include a commander with a mark, the troops with the same mark can count as troops. But does it have to be the general? Because it also says that you may only include troops of the same mark as the general?
I am confused..
Well im a bit of an idiot when it comes to the rules but as far as I understand the Black Legion rules:-
-To have Plague Marines, Beserkers etc in the same army, your General MUST have Mark of Chaos Undivided
-Any other mark on your general means that you cannot include any other ones
But like i said, thats what i think it is.
((btw, 1000k = 1,000,000, sorry im just in one of those moods lol))

RobtheGuru is correct, though, I'm not sure how effective a B.L. army would be that used all 4 marks.
Actually a army with all four makes isn't possible, only 3 elite slots. Unless the Lieutenant had a mark however, but that doesn't seem altogether effective. (Remember marks work diff for vehicles, so I don't count them in this statement.)
Darkmaw mentioned that he was taking a chaos lt with the mark of Slaanesh, so his MoS models would count as troop choices. I agree with you, however, that it is not really an effective build.Originally Posted by LictorInTheGrass
Marking the Lieutenant make those guys troop choose?... That doesn't compute, I am pretty sure its the general that has to be mark to make Mark guys standard troops.
If you mark your "main" HQ with a god specific mark then you cant include members from an opposing God. (Khorne / Slaanesh or Tzeentch / Nurgle)
Ref: Codex CSM, Pg 38 - "Ancient Enemies"
If you have an undivided "Main" HQ, then any god specific CSM units become "elite" and you only have 3 elite squads.
You could however have
Undivided CSM as Troops
Berzerkers, 1K sons, NoiseMarines as Elites
Nurgle Havoc marines as Heavy Support.
Now, the Havoc's could NOT take the heavy weapons (see Book of Nurgle, pg 51), therefore they would function almost exactly like a Plagemarine squad, but would be "Heavy" rather than "Elite"
Et Voila, an army with one of each gods unit

There is only one way to include all four marks into a single list. The problem everyone else is running into is "Ancient Enemies" rule, and the fact that all marked units become Elites (Including Heavy Support units, Fisk!). There is one and only one way around this problem.
First, you must have a Chaos Lord, and he must either be unmarked or undivided. This will prevent any issues with Ancient Enemies. Second, you must have a marked Leiutenant. Any Chaos Power is fine.
Next, you buy a retinue of Chosen for that Leuitenant. Mark one is taken care of. Buy a second unit of Chosen, giving them a different mark. They form their own unit, but due to the rules for Chosen, they only take up a single FO slot.
This leaves you with two Elites slots left, which you can fill with troops of the two remaning Chaos Powers.
As boyd mentioned earlier though, I can't see it being very effective.
Edit, just to clear something up -
Only one general per army counts towards the FO organization rules. This is the Lord if present, and defaults to the most expensive Leiutenant. If neither of them is present, then it'll be the Greater Daemon and his Daemonhost until the GD shows up.
So, just because you have a Leiutenant marked with Slaanesh doesn't instantly mean you can take Noise Marine units as troops choices. He also has to be the army general, which will mean the army couldn't include any Khornate units due to Ancient Enemies.
Wow that was enlightening. Thanks Caluin!
As to effective build, i was thinking originally an mechanized infantry army
1k Sons in a rhino
Bezerkers in a rhino
Plague marines in a rhino
1 tank-build DP.
