I am new to all the new rules, I used to play about 6 years ago.
Back then I made my own Chaos Legion, which was very ez to do back then, but now that things have changed I can not find any REAL informartion on making your own Chaos Legion for 40K.
If you make your own Legion will it be recognized as a legitimate army in Tournaments ?
Can you add/invent gods and Daemons ? ( ie : make a conversion : base the stats off another Deamon ? )
If so where can I find the rules for creation ? Are there any ?
I have a full idea of what I want to make and how I would like it to work for the most part, but I need some guide lines. Can anyone help ?
As far as I know you cannot make up daemons/gods for use in tournaments.
The best way would be to use the rules of the legions (e.g thousand sons) and just paint your legion your own colour and call it what you like.
Thank you Outsider
So what you are saying is that if no matter how I paint or convert a model, as long as I use the rules based off another legion I would be ok at tournaments ?
( ie : Take a Daemon Prince convert him however I want paint him how ever I want and he would still be recognized as a legitimate in Tournaments ? )
As long as you don't mix the rules the yea, there shouldn't be a problem, I would still ask the tournament oragnisers just to be on the safe side.
How would one go about contacting a tournament oragniser ?
THANK YOU for the help !
Ahh well, i'm not sure, I have never been to a tournament so I wouldn't know.
9 times out of 10 though as long as you don't mix the rules they aren't going to penalise you, otherwise it restricts peoples creativeness.
Stick to that and you should be fine! Good luck in the creation of your legion!
If your legion has only recently turned to chaos, use the SM codex. This gives more flexibility when personalising the army because of the trait system.
Otherwise just do what outsider said.
Btw I've been to quite a few tournys and people never complain when you use the ''count as'' rule as long as you haven't done something stupid like make a deathwing army with unconverted grot models :glare:
