Ok... im just finishing off my eldar army and have decided to collect chaos as my second army, the fearlessness is looking really attractive after my eldar run away from every battle.( Anyway i've designed a suitable Lieutenant to lead the army but now i just need to figure which of the five powers he would fit best.
Lieutenant Vein armed with a pair of lightning claws, spiky bits, daemonic strength, daemonic mutation (a long spiked tail)
He is always accompanied by a team of either possessed or chosen.
Im trying to theme him around a scorpion kind of idea (if anyone can think of a good conversion for him).:ninja:
I deliberately designed him as a lieutenant because once my army gets bigger i'd like to add a massive demon prince.
My main opponents will be imperial guard, dark angels, tau, necrons and alpha legion.
So please help me decide which of the five powers can best serve Vein.
(here's the fluff i've got already if you're interested)
During the battle for the emperors palace Lieutenant Vein and his elite killteam earned their claim to fame infiltrating the battlefield and locating several hidden passages and secret tunnels into the palace and upon locating one, would lead hundreds of Khorne beserkers through to assault the enemy from behind. However at one time he was unfortunate enough to have Kharn the Betrayer in one of these groups who struck Vein with his axe calling him cowardly. Veins team immediately recovered wounded his body and fled off planet with it calling upon whichever god this post decides Vein worships to save him., leaving the beserkers to die in the open even causing Kharn to receive his (almost) fatal wound.
Several centuries later just before the 13th black crusade Vein's team infiltrated the capital city of cadia and managed to escort a chaos marine marked for possession into the sewers beneath the city. Thanks to their success the cadian defences were decimated trying to fend off the black legion as a bloodthirster erupted from below ground silencing the cadian heavy weapons.
On the rare occasion that Vein needs troops to help him succeed in his missions he simply "borrows" troops from another legion. He has grown quite adept at deceiving officers with false orders to "attack this enemy position" or "create a diversion here", his favourite among these are the thousand sons because if he finds a particularly stupid aspiring champion then he gains an entire squad of soldiers with no questions asked.

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
If he's so mutated and uses different troops, then Black Legion is the army for you. Their units are black (duh), so you can repaint them into other legion easily should you decide to switch.
Or Alpha Legion, because Vein is so deceptive.
Definitely sounds like alpha legion or night lords material to me- it would fit really well with that sort of fluff. They are both loosely based around stealth- alpha legion being more of the 'attacking from behind their lines', and night lords being more 'OMFG where did they come from I didnt see them and they can see us and they're very fast'.
However, if you want to use troops from other legions, or differently marked units, you will need to go black legion and take them as elites.

i disagree, i think he should be slaaneshi, beat up by khorne, so slaanesh rescues him and gives him strength to fight his negative. he would also be able to tempt marines to his cause with his fetching charisma.
a nice conversion would be to make him on to a either a gobbo spider or shelob. just the legs part the back you would have to sculpt to make a scorps tail with the old spawns tail.
very nice idea
I just can't picture a Slaaneshi lord leading a horde of khorne berzerkers, or a daemon vessel for a blood thirster. That sounds more like an undivided kind og thing.Originally Posted by danjones87
