I was wondering what is the best model to represent choas cultists? (Ones with CCW and some kind of pistol)
It's been a minute.
The cultist models!
I am Narcotick. Fear me.
LO Musicians clan.
A good mix of models is always good for the army. I included some Empire Fanatics ...looked really good.
The best models are ones you make yourself. Do some conversions with various bits. For example, a mix of catachan imperial guard and orky bits would work. Or beastmen from the fantasy range. Also, I've seen some great models created from necromunda gangers. look through some bits and see which ones you'd like the best.
Necromunda models are good if you don't mind metal.. some of the old redemptionists in particular look very cultisty. It depends on the atmosphere of the world you want them to come from.
Feral cultists might be well represented by chaos marauders for example (just add pistols)
While cults made of former guardsmen could be done with converted IG models.
Ultimately, it's all up to you.
Hey,And he's asking us for options. So -Originally Posted by The_Giant_Mantis
If you want lots of Citadel minis on the cheap (like me) get -
* 20 plastic Catachans - these come with lots of guns and knives.
* 20 plastic Zombies - sturdier than Skellies, loads of Nurgly bits and blades.
* 20 plastic Empire Militia - lots of pistols and pointy sticks, extra heads.
I used plastic Chaos Knights (w/ combi-flamers) for Demagogues.
3 Mobs of 20 is a *very* respectable Horde. No 2 models need be the same.
Plus, these 'Cultists' can double as Troops in a LatD list.
I believe mantis meant it's up to him as to which of the suggestions he wants to use.
if you like metal minis and you like to make conversions, the mordheim miniature range has some chaos cultists that look really cool.
ages ago, there were some metal weapon sprues for necromunda, that included some autopistols and laspistols (and a power fist, autoguns, etc), but i don't know if they will be available... in imperial guard boxes there are only 4 laspistols.
again, necromunda redemptionists and scavvies are good minis for alternative chaos cultists, and some use laspistols or autopistols.
for LaTD i've used my old metal beastmen as mutants, with little conversions (to add some flamers to the squads), like those book of chaos ages, where beastmen and chaos warriors could fight alongside CSM.... also i have scavenged my orlock gangers and some old catachan metal miniatures.
KIL, KIL, KIL
Inquisitorial Storm Troopers converted with chaos spikey bits etc.
I used a box of chaos marauders mixed evenly with a box of catachans, and they look sweet. . .but I don't think there enought laspistols to go around to equip more than half of them with pistol/ccw. . . (the ones who don't get a sweet ccw + lasgun. . .game effect is no different than just lasgun, but it looks cool.)
The fun thing with chaos cultists, is that you can let your imagination go wild, all of the ideas given sound great to me, and I'm sure there are several other nice options that will also work. Pick one you like and have fun with them.
Votewar MKV 2nd place. . .
Back from internet limbo, and glad to be here.
