I'm wondering how many of you use Chaos Warriors as CC marines or whether you've ever though about it. They bits they come with really look cool and the set is ideal for slaanesh because they come with 12 warriors.
Do you guys think using these is a good idea?
I almost always use my Chaos Marines for CC. Of course mine our Bezerkers but even if they were plain mariners i'd give them MoCU, bolt pistol w/CC weapon and Aspiring Champion with a powerfist.
I believe he's talking about the Chaos Warriors models from the WHFB range.Originally Posted by IAmAngel
If you mix and match the bits with standard Space Marines, or Chaos Space Marines, I'm sure you can get some unique looking miniatures... however, just using the Warriors, I recommend against. They need 40k stuff, and they should look at least a little like the 40k counterparts.
So, I recommend mixing and matching the bits from Space Marines (newer and all that) and Chaos Warriors to come up with some unique models.
Depends on what you use them for too. I think they'd work pretty good as an elite unit, particularly Possessed. Maybe throw on a bolt pistol or two here and there. I think they'd work pretty good for Khorne, actually. They've got a certain brutal, barbaric air to them... they seem a little too... brutish for Slaanesh.
Actually, if you paint them purple and cal the fur pelts cashmere that's right up Slaanesh's alley, but I get where your coming from. Of course I never thought that Slaanesh made chaos any less brutish considering they go insane with a lust for pain and death.Originally Posted by grimmtu
If it's OK with the people you play with, sure you can do it.
If it's a good idea in general? I don't think so. The heads are great and their cloaks too, but I'm all with Lost Nemesis, if you use bits from them and bits from the CSM-sprue you can get some really awsome CC-marines, but to field an all Fantasy unit is not quite as intimidating. Their legs are quite static and their arms will need some serious carving to look alive.
Undeadair has used a mix for his Slaanesh marines and they are fantastic, have a look by clicking *here*.
I think you could do well if you mixed parts from Khorne Berzerkers, Noice Marines and the Fantasy Warriors.
[oups, wrong post, sorry]

Oh my bad. I feel stupid
I'm sure they'd look fine, as long as you swap in some bits as others have said. I picked up a box of them to use for my Black Templars. Chopped the torsos off and replaced them with Imperial ones and they look fine The shields look pretty nifty as well if you want to use them (although that's slightly less wysiwyg.)
The only problem I've had is that they can turn out looking a little too bulky if you don't cut the torso off in just the right place. Expect to junk a couple before you find something you like.
