I have a question about wether the following would be allowed in games (tournaments, etc).
I like all of the chaos models and find it hard to choose between the powers. I would like to put together an army sort of based on the eldar swordwind - i.e. one of each squad each with a different role.
Obviously this army would have to be played with black legion rules. General would be undivided and then I could include (as elites) 3 troop squads with 3 different marks (prob. slaanesh, khorne and tzeentch).
My questions specifically are:
1. Can you see anyone objecting to this (as far as I can see this is within the Black Legion rules).
2. Most importantly - could I use the chapter specific models (1000 sons rubric marines, noise marines, bezerkers) PAINTED IN THEIR NORMAL CHAPTER COLOURS to represent each of these squads? I really like the paint schemes of these chapters.
Please have a look and let me know any possible problems/objections with this idea.
I really don't understand what you are asking for.
First you talk about using Eldar models for Black Legion (which would be ok if they were painted in BL colors and had some minor conversions) and then you talk about using chapter-specific colors on thousand sons (which you can, don't see why shouldn't).
Or do you mean that you want to play an basic, vanilla undivided chaos army with elite units that have a mark of chaos?
I am bit confused
Please read again - just the idea is just based on swordwind.Originally Posted by Da Mighty CamelThis is what I am after. I want say 1 squad of tzeentch marines, 1 slaanesh, and 1 khorne.Originally Posted by Da Mighty Camel
The army overall will be black legion BUT I want to paint the above squads in pink, blue and gold, and red respectivesly.
Does that make it clearer?

Yeah I got it now, got kind of confused
You also want a normal chaos army? well, whats the problem then? Is there a better way to show what mark a unit have then to paint them in their gods color? No.
Look in the 'dex, you will notice that all BL-armies that include mark-units have painted them in the marks colors.
You'd have to do like this.
Lord of undivided.
Lt bearing mark of a god+ retuine of chosen
another squad of Chosen bearing a different mark.
the two other cult troops as elites.
Slaanesh LT+ Noice marine chosen
Chosen of Khorne
Plauge Marines (troop or havocs)
Thousand sons (Troop)
they would all be Elites.
You could use Daemons for Troops and Fastattack.
Good Luck, Please post the list on the Army List board so we can see and comment
that is 4 elite choices though. i think in the chaos faq or chapter aproved it says a retenue of chosen counts as an elites choice. not sure tho but just what i think i read somewhere
Yeah that is correct.Originally Posted by Retard
oh rite yeah of course. thanks for pointing that out
There is no restriction on how you paint your troops, other than the three colour minimum for sanctioned tournies. If you want your Marked units to bear their original Chapter colours, there is nothing stopping you. In fact, it could be quite fluffy - an Abbadon in training is bringing together all the Legions under one banner, and the first three legions to heed the call were.....
So long as you follow the rules for creating your army, there should be nothing that anyone would be able to complain about. Is the army legal? Then go for it.
