    Possessed marines usage

    All deamons, I welcome thee,

I was improving my armylist, when I bumped on somthing I didn't understand.

8 Possessed space marines (1 asp champ) (496 pts)
    deamonic flight, talons, mutation, MoK

is this a good possessed squad? if not, why not? what should I change? aren't they to expensive?

    in other words.............

how do I use Possessed marines?

As lictor said you can only have one power.

That is why some people use chosen squads with ac w/ powers, so they can take more than one.

That looks like a good squad (although its illegal and I don't have my codex on hand to check what the stats would be). Just make an all ac chosen squad with the same upgrades, even though it would cost alot it would be a killer in cc.

Yup, you are limited to only one Daemon Gift. I usually give mine MoK and either D. Mutation or D. Talons and stick em' in a Rhino with Smoke and Extra armour if I use them.

i have found that demonic talons are thebest of the available options for possessed.

it basically gives you a squad of power weapon amred ccmadmen if memory serves correctly (damn it's been a while since i used them)

stick them ina rhino and get them up close. their tought to take down and if they do die (and they will. Chaos lords below/above/whereever know you enemy makes it a point tokill a full squad of D talon marines) make sure they go down fighting the only way they can.. hard and brutal

As said, drop flight and go with Talons alone being the best upgrade. Oh and obviously yes this is a deadly squad, sort of like Khorne genestealers.

To round it off I've give the free Asp Champion a Powerfist, a talisman of Burning Blood and a Banner of Rage (think about it, 5 attacks per marine with Rending...).

The possessed squad of 10 mutated marines running around with "rending" is enough to have all fire concentrated on them, if then get up there (rhino is the best choice here) they will reek havoc on anything in sight including HQ's tanks if your lucky and temis dont stand a good chance agenst thiese buggers. I use them in almost every game i play with my alpha legion i had them take out Kayvvian shrike and his "winglets" in one fell swoop beacause they got too close. Those things smell fear and run towards it... now if they only had proper table manners...

Actually I found the best set up up to be 8x Nurgle Possessed Marines with flight and AC with a Plague Sword. s5 and t5, can't go wrong my friend with a bunch of guys that will either hit on 3 or 2 against the standard types of units, and the plague sword takes out any high str dudes.

I generally prefer 7x Possesed with MoN, daemonic talons, a free A/C, and a rhino. On the charge, each guy gets I think 4 rending attacks, with the A/C getting 5

And I'm not sure, but I don't think you can buy weapons for your A/C if he has daemonic talons or venom.

Deamonic talons and venom count as weapons, so you can't buy an more weapons.

I like the idea of 8 posessed with talons, ToBB, banner of rage. since the ac can't buy weapons anymore, no powerfist. and with the banner, summoning my bloodletters will be easy. stick these buggers in a rhino, and when they arrive, summon the deamons. twice as much distruction

but, shouldn't the whole squad have the talisman instead of the ac only?

and how should I tool my rhino? extra armour?
