I'm continuing to add to my Black Legion army, and I'm in the mood for some conversions or to make some unusual units. Does anyone have any effective ones they'd like to share? By unusual I'm thinking something like squad of CSM with an AC with Chaos Hounds. I don't know, just stuff you don't see in most games.
I like a big, fat, expensive squad of favoured Khorne Chosen all on Juggernaughts and having power weapons. Just so many freakin attacks and wounds it's filthy. I don't play Khorne or I would use these all the time. Of course if I was to take this squad I would take a very cheap HQ instead of a souped up Daemon Prince. Prolly take a Lt. HQ with a fist and mutation joining one of your normal squads with an AC that is outfitted similarily and have a nother nastyh CC punch.
Just think what those Jugs can do! And I wouldn't think they would be worth it butcept for the fact that they do have 2 wounds.
Also, if I knew I was playing a horde army I would take Horrors. Yes, they absolutely blow, but they look cool as hell, so I couldn't play Tzeentch without having some of those.
I'm taking Mounted Nettes. Because they look good also. I don't see those really ever.
And let's not leave out nurgle. How about swarms of nuglings. Absolute swarms. Like 50 of them. That would be fun to try.
Or how about a Land Raider full of Chosen Aspiring Champions in power armour, each with a power weapon, a plasma pistol, and a daemonic gift or two?
Tzeentch screamers seem to be pretty rare as do rubric terminators. It can surprise people a lot when you play with rubric terminators in an undivided army.
Also possessed with daemonic flight might be what ur looking for.

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
I've got five models on this... 3 more to goOriginally Posted by northoceanbeach
This sounds like fun!
Hmmm.... lets see... what about possesed marines, with the mark of Tzeentch, Deamonic flight and bolt of change?
Yes, one very heavy point sink, but imagine moving 12", and then shooting 24" with a S8 weapon? :shifty:
One thing no one seems to try is simply use a cheap Tzeentch Lt. with infiltrate, speed or flight and a teleport homer. Run close to the enemy, possibly so you can’t be charged and teleport a big squad of terminators all with doombolt or bolt of change.
Another thing is rubric terminators. They’re only 42 points but have 2 wounds and can take a charge just like any other terminator squad as they strike at I 4 with power weapons!
I thought all Rubric units are I 1 in close combat.Originally Posted by G-forceJnr

A squad Ive been play testing recently (with mixed success) is a tzeentch possessed squad with talons and gift of chaos in a LR. Sometimes it wins matches by itself because the squad just gets bigger and bigger and other times the LR gets destroyed in the first turn and my 513pt possessed get to footslog. Needless to say they die when that happens. But its a great fun squad! By far the best success its had was against nids who simply didnt have the anti-tank needed to stop the LR and then just kept getting turned into spawn ^_^
I'm happy to make you disapointed on this impending slaughter, indeed they used to be I1 but with the new rules came a change on the Slow and Purpousful rule. The I1 has gone so nowdays all Rubriks are fightning at their normal initiative.Im pretty certain ANY rubric model is I1 so yeah termies are too.
As for effectiveness I can but agree, those Rubrik Terminators are absoluterly very, very hard. Give them a Chainfist champ with Wind of Chaos and you are home free.
Unusuall yet very effective.
