O.K. heres my plan, I really like the normal Space Marine rules and I really like the Chaos Space Marine rules. So im going to make a Pre-Heresy World Eaters (Khorne Beserkers) army that can be used as either Chaos or Pure Space Marines.
I was wondering if any one had any suggestion for me.
The guilty laugh while the innocent suffer.............WELL WHO'S LAUGHING NOW!!!
You could have a problem with using it as both because there is quite a big difference between the two. For one, World Eaters post heresy have their trademark helms and are red with bronze trim. Post heresy, they just look like regular SM but white and blue.
I mean it sounds like it'd be a fun idea, just some people could get funny with the way some of your stuff is modelled. I personally wouldn't have a problem with it, its just you get some stuck up people who take things too seriously.
Well just model them apropriatley so you can use either or. Make sure they are all armed with ccw's and bolt pistols. The lord should be able to use loyalist rules as well as rules for an unstatured daemon lord. Use the WE rules when playing chaos, and I would use the Blood Angels rules when using them as loyalists. This should represt their blood thirsty-ness even before the heresy. Remember the key here is modeling them right.
Maybe Space Wolves 13th Company? Aren't they the ones who get something similar to blood frenzy or am i just stupid? lol
Yea... but wulfen attack with claws and teeth. Even now most WE will attack with their favorite axes and pistols, not their bare hands. I'd stick with BA or just plain loyalists.Originally Posted by RobtheGuru

There are some Cursed Founding Chapters' rules in the Chapter Approved 2004, and one of them closely resembles World Eaters. You could try that as well.
Hey,Yeah, I really like *all* the rules, but I only like one Codex *best*. Pick a team.Originally Posted by Commander NoOneWorld Eaters/ Khorne Berserkers aren't 'Chaos Space Marine rules'.Khorne Beserkers...army that can be used as either Chaos or Pure Space Marines
They're models. Models that don't appear anywhere in the Space Marine Codex.
For reference, a typical CSM rule is 'You can't take half the Space Marine armoury."Pre-Heresy, Loyalist World Eaters can't take Berserkers for obvious reasons.I was wondering if any one had any suggestion for me
Neither do they get Rage, Banners, Collars, Talismans, Glaives or Juggers.
If you 'really like' this prospect, my suggestion is -
"Just play Black Templars like everyone else."
If you're fickle and want to dabble in Chaos, try BL.
You missed the point, Playa. He wants to have one set of models that can be used as either army as he sees fit. He doesn't want to mix and match rules from each Codex, he wants to stretch his models to serve more than one function. There's nothing wrong with that - he just needs to model them appropriately.
With that in mind, do you mind not being so caustic in your posts?
I think the point of the last part of playa's post is that it wouldn't be fluffy to add some elements of the khorne army list, like the berserker glaive, juggernauts and so forth to a pre heresy world eaters list even if it used chaos rules. Makes sense to me. I mean, why would they be riding daemons and carrying daemonic weapons when they don't worship chaos?
I don't think there's a problem proxying pre heresy world eaters for khorne berserkers, as they were all crazy and brain-surgeryish before the heresy.
Overall, I think you're limiting your options a bit by trying to make an interchangable army. I'd stick with one or the other, and really concentrate on building an effective list either way.
If you wanted a best of both look.. have your army 'set' during the heresy, but before they repainted their armour. That way you can make them look as bloody and chaosish as you want, but keep the awesome blue and white scheme.
