Hi i am very new to all of this i was just wondering what HQ choices everyone uses for their tzeench armies, I also don't understand the HQ choice completely so I have a question:
Can you use any model for a chaos lord then, like could i use a Ahriman model and just say its a Chaos lord to my opponent is that legal????
yea, depend on who you play with, u can use. Also if you add Demonic Gift(ex. Demonic speed), your lord is supposed to have four legs or long legs, but if you play versus someone that don't mind, it will be ok. And if you read the lore, because of the Rubric of Arhiman all the Thousand Sons army will never mutate so.. if your friend say ''you don't have such thing for your D. gift'' you can say ''ahah, Tzeench, they cant mutate'' or something like that
They could mutate before the rubric though, so I'd guess any mutations they had would be from before then, and should therefore be modelled.Originally Posted by magicaltux
So no using Ahriman as a statured Daemon Prince, though it's perfectly feasable to use him as an unstatured one if you green stuff a tentacle or two. I think that takes away the fun of doing some huge scary conversion, myself, but never mind.
Personally, if I played 1000 sons, I'd just use a lieutenant. Small HQ = more bodies on the field, and since 1000 sons are so weak there, they could use a bit of help.
Maybe mount him on a disc with a bolt of change and send him tank hunting, although be aware a krak missile can take him out with one shot.
While random mutations might be out the doesn't mean they won't get 'changed' through daemonic possession/influences. Also, even if you rule out mutations they should ideally be modeled in some way; for instance chain swords instead of hands for Daemonic Talons.Originally Posted by magicaltux
Thousand Sons ~2750 points | Eldar ~1000 points
Tzeentch Daemons ~2000 points
could someone post a link to this "leiutenant" peice u guys are talkin about i can't find any piece like that
my Lord(Dark Blade, D. Armour/Aura, D. Mutation/D. Resiliance, have 4Thrall, Bolt of change/Wind of chaos and Gift of chaos), i use the spells i need, depend on my ally, i never play alone. If my ally is melee oriented like Khorne/Space wolf/orc, i prefer a melee lord but if my ally is shooting, ill shoot with him
Although I realise this is slightly off topic, all space marines under the rubric curse are just piles of ash, and hence, have no mutations. The aspiring champions and lords, however, were never put under the rubric curse, and hence maintain all their mutations and often acrue new ones.
I stick mine on a disc with mutation, aura, essence, resilience, strength, and i give him a power sword, bolt pistol, spiky bits, familiar, bolt of change, gift of change.
There is no Lt. model, a leiutenant is just a lesser lord, and can be represented by a standard chaos lord model, or a tooled up space marine model (really you can use anything you want as long as it gives an accurate portrayal of the wargear)
