hello, im just starting a thousands sons army and i was wondering how important heavy weapons are, how many units should i have (or how many vehicles) and which ones and what weapons, i'd like some vet opinion, i was thinking about going with 2 preds and i have NO idea what weps to put on them but thats just me and im a new guy so yeah, my opinion means jack-**** and jack just left town so yeah please help!!!!
First do you mean Heavy weapons? or Heavy SUPPORT?
Since Tzeentch armies dont really have heavy weapons ( other then chosen but no one plays em that way ) i think you mean Heavy Support.
preds should have all lascannons for tank busting abilities.
ur line squads should have BoC if they are walking and then WoC if they are in rhinos. ( all with thralls of course )
my 1600pts army count 3squad, a lord, 2pred and 1flamer squad.
the 2 pred are lascannon on top / lascannon on side. my 3 squad AC have Bolt of change and my lord 2. Those are my anti-tank.
You can also use a 9men chosen squad and give them all Bolt of change but it's not worth the points, they gonna die to fast.
Dreadnaughts are thought to work particularly well in TS armies, as they can compensate for the lack of ranged firepower AND some of their combat drawbacks. Giving them a lascannon and missile launcher might be nice too, that would have great potential as a siege/armour-hunting unit. It depends what else you put in- against something like Guard or Tau, who will have loads of tanks or S10 railguns then just the one piece of armour will be a bit of a waste, a distraction for a couple of turns at the most.
As magicaltux said, ACs are great with Bolt of Change. d.strength and a power weapon, squad in a rhino. One of the most effective units for the cost available to any chaos legion. 9-man chosen squad all with Bolt? That's just silly. Just as well you realise that would be a waste, but that just raises the question as to why you mentioned it in the first place. That said, Bolt of Change will be your friend after your dreads and predators are smoking and the last demolisher is drawing a bead on your defenseless 1k's.
2 Dreads LC/ML and a defiler Btl Cannon and HB. Unless you tool the AC for CC he should have BoC.
i talked about the 9man chosen squad because i was thinking about something that would be funny to do in my science class lol, i came up with this, my original idea was 18chosen, BoC, 72 thrall wizard but... i found out that i cant and its a waste of point and a waste of time and a waste of everything you can waste your life for
You cannot give Bolt of Change to regular chosen. It is a gift of the Gods, and therefore you can't give it to anything without access to the armoury.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

o, then its an ArmyBuilder Version2
Do any of you use familiars to give more than one power to your AC's/Lords? or do you find them a waste.
I myself always give Bolt of Change and Gift of Chaos, to make my AC's/Lord more versatile, and so far it's paid off pretty well. What are your opinions on this?
