sorry this is probably a REALLY REALLY dumb question but i've been looking and exactly what is a chosen???? and what makes them "chosen"??
Chosen are slightly more pricey basic marines, that can be used as a retinue for your HQ units, or feilded as a seperate unit.Originally Posted by 7th_sign_soulja
What makes tem special is the options. They can have terminator armor, more then one AC, more heavy/special weapons then havocs (in large squads). They are also the only unit that has access to the selection of special icons from the armory, and the cult armories. Additionally other then tzeentch units, they are the only unit other then the HQ's that can take the sorceror ability.
Due to the large ammount of options availible to this unit, it makes them difficult to field effectively. But they do form a solid base for when you decide to build that 'uber' unit. Careful not to get to carried away with upgrades though, it's verry easy to do so.
I hope this helps.

If you own the chaos codex you can go read exactly what they do.

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
thought i'd throw this out there
can diff squads of chosen have diff marks becuase they are 1 choice on the FOC and i dun remember anything about it saying if u can or cant.
I assume that u could but can someone verify that if its right/wrong?
They're in the codex. You will need one.
I'm not sure.. I'd imagine as seperate squads they can choose their own mark, along with all their other options. Good question though.
They can bear different marks. If you have a lord bearing one mark (let's say MoK) his retinue should have the same, then you have a Lt with the MoT, hen his retinue should have that (MoT that is). The third "freeroaming" unit could have any mark it wishes (apart from Slaneesh then but that's in this example only and due to the ancient enemy rule)
Hope it helps
