i have a few problems right now... I play black legion with heavy slaneesh
1 a mech IG list
2 a Eldar army
The Mech IG fields crazy amounts of Armour! he has always has a basilisk sittin in a corner hidin like the lil punk he is.. then the lamen russ's (not sure) i just know that its a huge blast at like 3ft aprox and its ordinance.. insta kills all infantry and can pretty much take any tank at side or rear... i need a way to deal with this amount of stuff...
Solution 1: Field more missile launchers (currently feild 1 in every unit as well as 2 havoc squads all with 3missiles and 1 lascannon)
Solution 2: Field some Preds.. take Blastmaster turret and lascannon sponsens. It seems sound.. but i fear that they will just becom targets for that big blast
Solution 3: Field a defiler or two. Just shoot back with its pieplate i'm not quite sure how effective this is.. never used one.
Solution 4: ?????? <<insert sugestion here if u have a better one>>
The Eldar fields vypers, some support bateries, vypers, a few swooping hawks, and oh yah vypers!... all of them have starcannons.. i dun even know how many he can take.. but he has to be close to the max. These are like bane to any troops..
Solution 1: ??? I HAVE NO IDEA I NEVER GET TO TRY ANYTHING.. they just kill everything that i send at em.. or if somethin scary comes along they move their cool 24" away
please someone help?
Here's some options to consider:
>8 Havocs: 4 Autocannons, Tank Hunters and/or Infiltrate
Powerful unit that can infiltrate forward, and take care of any lightly armoured vehicles or skimmers.
>Predator: Autocannon turret, lascannon side sponsers
Can deal with most vehicles, whether they're light or heavy.
Very versitle due to its wide range of weapons. Can change weapons, so is great for destroying whatever neccesary, whether its infantry or vehicles.
>Raptors: Melta Guns, AC with Powerfist and Melta Bombs
Fast unit that can speed up the field, and destroy any vehicles with the Melta Guns. If the tank isn't destroyed, it can assault with the powerfist and melta bombs. If the tank is destroyed, then they can assault other things.
>Havocs 8: 4 Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters and/or Infiltrate
This works similar to the Autocannon configuration, but a little better strength.
>Regular Marines with heavy weapon
Another option to consider. With 1 heavy weapon, I like to have squads of 6.
>Dreadnought with Autocannon/Lascannon
Good for taking down vehicles, again.
In general, against the Eldar player, you might want to use more vehicles then infantry, because Starcannons will eat through infantry, but will have trouble with vehicles.
Chaos have quite a bit of options, so take advantage of it! Hopefully this gave you some more insight.
Well, since you play SLaanesh in part how about one of these two things?
1. 2 Havoc squads with four blastmasters each. Give them tankhunters. That's a very, very versitile squad that can shout four S9 shots a turn, but also MOVE AND SHOOT troops with a S5 blast marker that pins. This basically means that these squads are good for everything.
2. Get a squad of Slaanesh bikes, or Raptors with infiltrate, load em up with a couple squads of Daemonettes and daemon bomb the crap out of their vehicles. You could also consider mounted daemonettes for this. Since they move so far and charge so far.

As for tank hunting, i would suggest the daemon-bomb, too.
Oh right, the move and shoot is assault 2. Well, that usually works out to be the same. Usually a blast marker get 1 and two partials.
kk thx guys.. i think i like the deamon bomb thing. i could potentially include that in my current list.. given the money i need lol... just a few questions.

Ordnance from Defilers will deny them their WBB! rolls. As well as your powerbladed champions.
all i have to say is at least try some predators with laz cannons all around and the daemonic hull (which ever is the upgrade that gives +1 to all armor)
its give your pred so much more survivability, and with 3 laz 1 being twin linked your good to go poping armor and rude units with many wounds or what not (like beasty hq's)
i mean i almost always play 2 preds like that and they are so amazing, i mean if your going 1850, or 2000 you might want to go up to 3, but there great.....
Defilers are ok IMHO. Personally, I don't like them to much but I know poeple who use them effectivley. Really, try it out and if it works well then get one. Proxy first if your opponents let you so you don't have to waste money.Defilers? they worth their points.. i like that blast

About the Necrons, you'll want things that ignore the WWB roll. Low AP, high strength weapons work great. Getting into close combat can work well too. Go for phase out.
I've never tried it but it looks cool on paper. A couple (5 or 6), bikers with 2 meltaguns, krak grenades, skilled riders, siege specialists, tank hunters.
Basically your weak little krak grenades are suddenly S7 (w00t), your meltaguns will pop heavy tanks and if you have points to spare an AC with personal icon, meltabombs, combi-melta. This unit has no mark of chaos so you need the personal icon with the champ.
It also can travel through difficult terrain to claim objectives and destroy enemy bunkers. It's unhindered by mine-fields meaning you have a bike squad out there doing whatever the hell it wants.
Like I said i've never tried it but it sounds cool.
