does Rubric Terminator are worth it ? im trying to get a job right now and if i got one i plan upgrading my current 1600TS army to 3000pts. For this i was planning to add 18 Rubric terminator but i dont know if they are really worth it... your opinion plz.
this army would consist of 4Rubric squad, 2Flamer squad, 3pred, 1lord.

Well they are still random with the speed they move and they can't be upgraded but they have 2 wounds. Personaly I wouldnt take them unless you had a transport or a fast squad with a teleport homer. 18 of them will attract a lot off attention footsloging. I'm not sure about the initiative of 1(I think it mah have been revised) but if it is you need to be careful.
Could be fun though, I'd like it if somebody around here didn't just to seen what happens.
And if you really wanna be sure, try if you could proxy them to try them out I don0t think people would mind if it0s friendly.
'Thou shalt not refer to the Adeptus Soritas as "Bolter Bitches" nor shalt thou go anywhere near our sisters during the time of the "Red Rage," lest thou wishes to be the first human to enter orbit without the aid of a shuttle.'
They are about as resilient as any other rubric marine, pointwise. So all those weapons directed at the rubric termies would have nice other targets anyway, rendering this objection obsolete.18 of them will attract a lot off attention footsloging.
Rubric termies however are vastly superior in close combat...and they strike at I4 by the way, just like any other rubrics in 4th edition do, as the I1 thing is no longer part of the slow and purposeful rules.
I'm really considering a dustwing myself...five of them are done, and i absolutely love them.
For about 1400pts one can get 51 wounds in terminator armour, including insanely tooled up asp champs...
I think 18 of them is too much.. Any opponent who can field a demolisher cannon or basilisk will be killing himself with laughter.
Unless you were going to split them into two squads, in which case, that's slightly more doable, but it will still make for an unbalanced army in my opinion.
Basilisk is only AP 3 though, and with the short range of the demolisher (and fact that it needs LOS to fire), it could easily be taken out before it does any damage.
But I agree, squads of 9 would be better
My 40K Armies:
- Thousand Sons
- Mordian Imperial Guard
- Dark Eldar
My Fantasy Armies:
- Lhamian Vampire Counts
I feild a unit of 5 in 2000 points.
They always attract fire cos my opponent always is like :-
"Arg, 2 Wound Termies"
But i'm always like :-
"Hahahahahaha You just can't kill them all"
I would advise therefore to use terminators and as above in units of 9.

*Planning Stages*Thousand Sons of Chaos, Melekh's Host - 2000 Pts
Ogre Kingdoms, Tribe Of The Blooded Gut - 3500 Pts
Khorne Daemonic Legion, The Hordes Of Blood - 2000 Pts
Nurgle Possesed Ravenwing Army, The Rottenwing - 2000 Pts
Yea, i was thinking of 2 sqaud of 9 terminator.
Today i talked with 2 of my friend and they both said that they would never do their points, one of them also said that 3 Rubric marines could win over 2 Rubric terminator(not sure about this).
Instead of terminator squad i was thinking with more Rubric marines, 3squad of 9, 2squad of 18 and 2Rhino.
Nyway, thx for the help, ill think of all this.
3 rubric marines beating 2 rubric terminators? I don't think so. The power weapons alone would win it for the termies-not even considering the extra +1 save...
Not only that, but rubric terminaotrs get 2 attacks while marines only get 1 (they can't have CCW + bolt pistol if I remember correctly...) 3 attacks v. 4 attacks. GG power armour!
Kill Maim Burn
I have five right now and they are great fun. So I'm making five more, this way I'll have two squads each with a champ or one squad of nine in which I can place the champ of choice.
They are really durable, but that's no surprise.
I do however think it is a bad thing to field two squads of nine as this leaves you with only two champions for 800 points. Not to mention they cannot have thralls if they deep strike, which even more limits them.
The reason for having those durable Rubrics is to protect the Champs, so this might be a bit of a overprotecting.
