Welcome to Librarium Online!
Just wondering what everyones opinions are on these ones. and if you do use one HOW do you use it? is the vessel in a rhino? walking up the field? on a bike?
I play 1ksons and am trying to find out how to use LoC to its fullest. So far i put him in a rhino ( well the vessel anyway ) give the AC a power weapon so he attacks at strenght 6 and hold off till i really need him. i also put my HTH Sorc lord in the same rhino for added punch. He usually has a dark blade so i have allot of str 6 attakcs on high (i)
how do you use yours?

I play Khorn. I dont use the Thirster often, but when I do, I put the icon bearer in a squad of bikes, turbo charge into a weak squad of troops. (Their saves are invlb saves so they wont die that turn) next turn he usually comes out and proceeds to eff stuff right the eff up
When all else fails... charge it with a Tyrant.
ya im basically trying to work out in my head how and when i would use the LoC.
right now i have the vessel in a rhino with my Lord. and i ususally let him loose on turn 2-3 depending on charge range.

I personally use a Bloodthirster in my LATD as a shcok trooper and I find they are a bargain for their points as long as you can keep them in combat. Dreads. troops and the such get mushed and each has it's different uses. I'd have the LOC use cover, psychic power **** and then charge weak squads. It also has wings so it can move fast.

The most common method I've seen to summon demons are turbo-boosting bikers or infiltrators. I don't like bikes, so whenever I want to summon my Keeper of Secrets (I don't use one often), I use a unit of infiltrators as they start close to the enemy, the demon is slow, and biker champions cost too much (especially if you are playing an undivided army or don't have the sacred number in a cult army).
When I do use a Greater Daemon, its usually the Bloodthirster. I usually use a bike squad to speed forward to unleash it.
I have used the LoC but a couple of times, he never "did it" for me.
It might be the lack of attacks or the fact one can make a DP with comparible stats without losing an AC.
But then again, I hardly ever go overboard on my HQs anyway. HQs should be like wine, Cheap and Strong
I prefer a Chaos Lord/Lt./Prince, but sometimes I'll use a Greater Daemon for a change, and I'll sometimes use both in large games.
i really like the models fluff stats what they can do etc.....
but i dont play with any and i dont plan to.
i mean i play death guard and for mr yuk stats and what he can do for his points costs he is soooo good, but my main problem is
the greater daemons version of unstability.
i think it is way to much of a draw back to spend the points to play with one i would much rather take another small squad of guys or what not, i mean it is so easy to lose your greater daemon the 1st time he has to take his unstability test.
Just making sure you do know that you only have to roll for instability when your demonvessel dies before he actually gets to summon his demon don't you? Cause i know there are some older printings that have old rules on stuff like that.Originally Posted by fogogrego
Personally I'm thinking of getting a greater demon too. I play undivided though and have'nt decided which one to get yet. I'm looking forward to being able to place my own monstrous creature on the table as I usually play nids and he has 2! a shooty carny and a cc one
