New to game this is what i have for death guard . a demon prince, a box of chaos termimators and champion,2 boxes of plague marines ,a box of chaos space marines , abox of plague bearers, a defiler and 2 predator tanks all painted and ready to go. Just need help putting it into a good army your suggestions would be apreciated
Without sounding nasty, you need a codex. From there, you can make an army list. You can search for "Death Guard" and take a look at what other people do when it comes to making a army list.
Once you have an army list, then i can help you
You'll want to get the rulebook and codex first, but aside from that...
Definitley get more marines - in paticular Plague Marines. 2-3 boxes of em' would be good, and use 7 in each squad to take advantage of the favored number special rule to get the free AC.
An basic example army would be somewhat like the following with the units you have (and 2 more boxes of marines).
Daemon Prince: assorted gifts, weapons, wargear ect.
4 Plague Marine Squads with AC; infiltrate or Rhino (if rhino it'd be fast attack selection)
Plague Marine squad mounted in rhino if you chose to do so
1 Defiler, Predator
Really basic with no real detail on wargear. If you would like me to go into greater detail in the list, then I could if you wanted.
Anyway, The Plague Marine Squads whether mounted in rhino's or infiltrating would move forward, shooting their special weapons and then assault. The Daemon Prince would support in assault, or if you went the shooty way support with shooting. Meanwhile, the Predator/Defiler would be providing firepower to the list.
Feel free to post your list in the army section for people to critique, and give you suggestions on. Search around the forum, and articles, and you should be able to find some more info on Chaos/Death Guard.
By the way, welcome to LO! If you haven't already, read the Rules of the forum, and you can also introduce yourself in the Introductions Board.

Firstly, taking a rhino doesn't change your catagory so still remain as a troop choice if taken. More marines is definantly worth taking and some recommendations are Nurgle's rot for your aspiring champions. At 5 points it can make up it's points very quickly.Originally Posted by IAmAngel
Also if rhinos are taken then give them plague carrier and possibly add a dreadnough, depending how you use your army and whether it would fit in well.
As said above^ BUY CODEX!!!
You will need it to do anything for your army!
Does he suspect one of us of heresy?
He is an inquistitor; they suspect everyone of heresy...
It does if you already have two troop choices of Plague Marines in Rhino's.Firstly, taking a rhino doesn't change your catagory so still remain as a troop choice if taken.
I can't stress enought like the others BUY THE CODEX and read and read and re read it.
flick through the army section and also go through the older posts on the forum. you'd be amazed at how much info, tactics and ideas that you will pick up.
I play slaanesh, but some of the general stuff has made me stop and rethink my army's layout (more time on armybuilder methinks)
but you WILL need the codex to understand the rules and the options for your units. cos some of the options can make a drastic difference to how effective your unit can be in its chosen combat role. (especially the book of nurgle with his special abilities and gear)
