The iron warriors as most of you chaos players known are known for is heavy support. But i have found out that also close combat for your chaos lord would be good. My chaos lord has a power fist and a power weapon!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of you will say thats stupis but i've been playing my cousins at this game for a while and they have a lot of armies.
It works well but my lord is a little to much points he is 200 and some.
Okay and what is the reason for this thread?
That's what I've been wondering, but I've laid off of it in hopes that something good might come out of it. You know, trying to be nicer Cal and all that.Originally Posted by Dreachon
He does bring up a good point - lately, most of the IW lists I've been seeing are always focused upon shooting to an extreme degree. It's like they atuomatically expect every list that has Iron Warriors in it to be packed to the rim with shooting elements.
Just because you can have four Heavy Support choices and nine obliterators doesn't mean you need to, nor must you do both. One of the most effective IW lists I've ever seen was one that used six Oblits for fire support and everything else was Close Combat orientated. It was a superb blend of versatility, which is what Chaos is meant for.
Just because you can take four pieces of Ordnance doesn't mean you should.

If you don't do any of that, it's like taking Black legion with no daemons. you're just limiting yourself for no reason. (Don't get my wrong I'm not saying you should take 9 obliterators and 4 defilers in every game you play, I'm just saying that IW are a shooty army, if you want a CCW chaos army then do WE, or EC.)

How come everybody else on this forum has 400 wins to 2 loses? I smell cheese.... and beef... sandwich!
What was Rogal Dorn doing when the Sanguinius and the Emporer got killed???
Woohoooo I killed the treeman!!! :)
I killed the Glade riders too!!!! :)
I play IWs and ive found them a great force to advance with. I use termies in my list quite frequnetly, they are great in both shooting and combat roles (less great at shooting but still).
I have never used more than three oblits, and never more than 3 heavy slots. One of the things i enjoy about collecting Iws is that they are totally different fluff wise from the other legions, in that all other legions invite mutation as a gift, and IWs hate it and remove all such mutations and replace them with bionics.
I also have seen the advantage of powerfist weapon combo, but its expensive and not always so great.
