It was brought to my attention the the Basilisk is open topped. (I don't have the codex so I couldn't check) but with most open topped vehicles, they don't count as open top if their crew have power armour on. So I'm just wondering on what the IW Basilisk would count as?
From what i can tell you it will still count as open topped.
Thats how it always been played when ive been around.

1) Basilisks are, in fact, open toppedOriginally Posted by The Green Knight
2) Basilisks aren't crewed by Iron Warriors marines, they're crewed by thralls (slaves) hence why the bs3. It says so in the entry with the basilisk
3) The only time that I know of about power armor making something not open topped is when the power armor literally plugs the hole in the roof, and the only vehicle I know you can do that on is the Chimera (although there's probably more)

i beleive the rhino also has the same thing anything using the fireing point doent not make it count as open topped as the passengers all wear power armor.Originally Posted by Ubernyaw

Landspeeders are also noted that because the crew is in power armor, that it isn't open topped. I think the point being, the codex states to take the vehicle as it appears in the I-Guard book, or it would have explicitly said that it wasn't open topped. Inferring that since the crew is in power armor, so its not open topped is incorrect since it wasn't specifically listed as such, take it as listed.

Yeah I played with my group tonight and the consensus it's still open top. (But I think they are just trying to hold me down. I didn't see in the fluff where it said the thralls..wish I had prior to modeling. I made a slave Imperial Guard Crew.
