Here's something I've been noodling for a while.
I believe that chosen can consist of both power armoured and terminator armoured models.
"Any number of chosen in power armour can be upgraded to Terminators..."
Page 25 of the CSM codex.
So that you could have a squad with some of both.
I think it would look cool and offer a wealth of conversion possibilities.
You could get some combinations of items and wargear that you couldn't otherwise.
The unit suffers from the majority armour rules.
Page 76 of the main rulebook.
The unit cannot combine movement abilities. Ie: Terminators cannot take infiltrate and power armoured chosen cannot deep strike. It would therefore be limited to either footslogging it or riding in a Land Raider.
I'm sure that there are some pros and cons that I'm missing.
Here's a couple quick sample squads which I was thinking about.
5 Chosen Terminators, Mark of Khorne, 3 power weapons, 2 chainfists, 5 combi bolters.
2 Chosen, Mark of Khorne, chain axes, bolt pistols.
1 Chosen, Aspiring Champion, Mark of Khorne, Axe of Khorne, bolt pistol, Talisman of Burning Blood.
(The advantage here is to get terminators benefitting from the ToBB which can't be taken by models in terminator armour.) I threw in some extra power armoured models because I think it would look odd to only have the one.
6 Chosen Terminators, 4 power weapons, 2 power fists, 6 combi bolters
3 Chosen, 3 melta guns
(The advantage here is to have some 'cheap' meltaguns in with a terminator squad protected by the terminators. The meltaguns are nice because they could be fired more than once unlike combi-meltas. Heck I could have given them plasma guns instead but then the squad couldn't charge if I shot them.)
Any comments would be welcome.

New 40K missions here.
Ive thought of that to but i wonder if it would be usefull.
But as you said it would be cool.
Long ago there was something in me, but now that thing is gone,
I cannot cry, I cannot care, that thing will come back no more.

Hi Grey, So, unfortunately you can't have the second squad. On pg 25 of the Chaos Codex, it states that every third chosen in power armor in each unit can upgrade. You can't fill the weapon slot requirements with the cheaper variant, its all one squad, but the different armor types are treated separately for "unlocking" weapon options. In order to get the 3 melta guns, you would have to have 9 power armored chosen to open up the slots for the weapons. To make that combination of weapons legal, it would be 6 chosen termies, and 9 chosen in power armor.Originally Posted by Grey

WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
i plan on making such a squad consisting of 2 termies one champion with lightning claws, 5 power armoured chosen, champion with servo arm and some really cool and weird looking stuff and cool conversions all riding in a land raider with my sorceror in daemon armour. i know it's very point-intensive but i wanted to have a really chaotic looking unit with barely any uniform things
I have been playing around wih the idea, though it seems not like the Sons are the best of armies for this.
I have however been thinkng about starting a Nurgloid force and then I would like to have a mixed Chosen squad. Since the sacred number is seven one might have three Terminators and four power armoured rottening corpses riding in a Land Raider, and that would have been something to behold.
For the Sons however...nope. Since we have no transport taking more then 10 models they would be either short on Chosen (it hurts me to have all but the most devoted in sacred units) or (even worse ) short of Thralls... Rubish if you ask me.
Actually this combo could be used to do the old "hidden powerfist" trick.
We all (like 97% of us) like to put a PF on a asp. champion in a squad and then he canĀ“tĀ“be targetted.
So if you throw 2 terminators with powerfists in a squad with a power armored asp. champ that has a powerfist and 5 marines in power armor. That means that the last 3 models to die will be the PF ones.
also you could have it a Khorne squad for more attacks and put ToBB on the asp. champ for added speed :ninja:

Or do 50% Termies and 50% Power armor, that way you would role either armor save when u want to
I believe, if memory serves me correctly, if you have equal numbers you take the lower save. But if you had 4 termies and 3 in power armour you woudl have 2 guys that have 2+ power armours saves
