I would think the T5 and a 2+ save would be self explanatory but how have you found the chosen termies work in DG? I mean, they're awesome but 41 points without any additonal upgrades is steep. Also, if they are worth it, how would you equip them, and how many in a squad etc, does the lord accompany them or go off on his own etc? thanks. This is for 2k points by the way.
2000 points I would almost always take a squad of 7 Death Guard termies with power fists and combi bolters. You can throw in a Lord in termie armour, and a reaper autocannon or heavy flamer to make things square, but they are certainly worth it.
It may be pricey, but it will almost ALWAYS do their points. In a 3000 point game, I took 10 termies and my lord, and they did about 1500 points worth of damage. (a Carnifex, a Hive Tyrant, 48 Genestealers and a lictor)
If u plan using Nurgle Terminators, i suggest taking Typhus as their leader.
Destroyer Hive makes them count as being in cover, when they are charged.
It also makes their own charge better with the "built-in" Blight Grenades.
And dont forget, that Daemon Weapons used by Special Characters do not count
towards the 0-1 limit.
(By the way, owning 48 Genestealers with Terminators, quite interesting.)
I've taken Nurgle Terminators a number of times, and I always put one of my HQ choices with them. The HQ is that much harder to take out with such a durable bodyguard and the HQ can help out against higher initiative opponents.
I typically only put 2-3 power fists in the squad to both save points and get some more hits at initiative.
To complete the insanity, last time I took them, I had the IC, and 3 ACs in the squad.
The first AC was free since I was playing Death Guard.
Then I gave the IC and the 3 ACs a Chaos Spawn follower each.
It was expensive as all get out, but in a 6 game tournament, the squad was never wiped out and always killed more than its points value.
