    Crisis....

I'm having some problems killing Tau. Or more presicely: Tau Crisis suits (and HQ crisis suits).
The Tau player I usually play agains is discustingly fond oh shield drones and always max them out.
This meen that I have to inflict 6 wounds on he's command squad before it looses any firepower!
On top of that, he's playing them as chicken as possible, jumping in to shoot, them runs away to hide in the assault phase.
Any Ideas on killing theese kritters?

Ah yes, I remember the Tau "running away phase". But honestly, do you really expect him to leave his 300+ point squad out in the open to get shot at?

The best way to take them out is to flank them; preferably with a fast moving unit such as cavalry, bikes of flyers. This will either force him into the open where you can shoot at him, to avoid combat, or go back behind cover, to avoid getting shot, and get assaulted by you durring your turn.

But Tau battle suits are really annoying to take out in an experienced players hands.
There once was a Lord named Vlad,
Who's fighting skillz really were mad.
    He killed and he maimed,
He spilled blood in Khorne's name.
And the fact that he's legal makes me glad
(special thanks to Uriel Zarium for the last line/touching it up)

Ordanance with indirect fire. If you play iron warriors you can use the basilisk or do it with a defiler. Deep strike termies would work too...provided they land where you want them to.

No dont use termies...the big reason is if you fail to kill the suit then you will lose a termi or two to plasma fire and then he will be out of range.

mass infiltrate could work. If they all bunch up behind that building to block LoS then a defiler is going to have field day.

The best thing you can probaly do is just shoot him back, take 2 squads of infiltrating havocs /w 4 plasma guns and blow him off the board. Your best friend is anything with low ap and either a lot of shots or a blast. Heavy bolters can be good at chewing up fire warriors but wont help your current situation one bit.

havent got the new tau codex but if you played with the old one I could dish out loads of info. i found a tooled up unstatured lord to be quite powerful.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.

Autocannons are aslo good and knocking down Tau. Hit on 3+, kill on 2+ and if you take a havoc sqaud of 4 Autocannosn with Tank hunters taht's 8 Strength 8 shots aginst his tanks and 8 strength 7 killing Tau per turn so these seem pretty versatile or Missle Launchers and tank Hunters casue of Frag Missles.

Indirect Fire is one of the best options, and probably one of the few reasons to actually purchase a Defiler or two. Other than that, things that move fast are the next best thing. Raptors, Bike Mounted Models, things in transports and the like.
