ok so i have a few mates who play chaos, 3 of them infact, and gosh, 1 is khorn, 1 is tzeetnch and the other is nurgle.... this leave out slaanesh.
since ive recently come under some well deserved financial happiness, i want to build a 1500 point slaanesh army, so we can all battle against each other in a 4 way using an 8' by 6' board. besides, i really like the idea of sonic weapons, however i hate the noise marines.. the way they look mostly.
so its going to be slaanesh, and their are going to be sonic weapons, it dawns on me that girls are both sexy and noisy (blah blah blah i like shoes)
this is by no means tourny legal (not that ive ever played a tournament anyway), this is just for fun.
so im going to have sisters with normal sisters statline, but i will convert them appropiately (as appropiate as slaanesh can get *cough*) equiped with sonic weapons (are these special weapons or can all troops in my squad have them, i can find this out later)
i want a daemon princess for HQ, 2 screaming sisters squads each with rhino, and 1-2 daemonettes for troops, 1 seraphim squad and 1 steeds of slaanesh thing for fast attack. immolator with sonic weapons and an exorcist.
i want to get my hands on the exorcist tank with the organ things on it, perfect for making noise.
anyway this is not about what im going to do, this is about how i should structure my army, what gifts i should give to the daemon princess and how i should play aginst 3 very different armies all at once. any suggestions guys? any ideas in general will be most appreciated.
by the way i thought of a name for the army/chapter or whatever sisters are, either the screaming sisters, or 'something' banshees.
thankyou to anyone who replies.
Firstly, well done for discovering the glory of Slannesh.. may the prince of misdeeds shower indulgences upon you, and all that.
But.. Noise marines.. What's wrong with noise marines? They're disturbing mutated freaks in pink armour.. what's not to love?
But the chaos sisterhood idea is pretty damn cool all the same. I'm really not a fan of homemade rules, but this is the kind of army you could very easily proxy with a slannesh/black legion list if you claim they've been blessed by the dark gods to make them superhumanly hard, so even if your opponent objects, you've got a playable army.
On sonic weapons.. hmmm... I can see why if you're using sisters, but ever since I fought my first battle with a full on sonic squad, I lost faith in them. They just aren't tough enough to warrant their points cost. My advice.. leave some bolters in there too.
You can just buy the normal chaos marine box set and paint them like slaanesh colours. That would work well and why would you want Sisters of Battle Stat lines, normal csm are much stronger.
Why not just use Sisters of Battle Models (appropriatley converted of course) and say that they have been enhanced by Slaanesh and as such use the Chaos Space Marine List. I personally would not have a problem with this as long as my opponent explained it to me before hand.
actually that sounds like a plan and a half, i dont really have either codex here to compare them so i was just going with what i thought would be fluffy. but i like it. can a cult of slaanesh or whatever this will be, be able to take jump pack troop guys, for example seraphim. ive played with sisters befor and i like there style.Originally Posted by Mikhail The Heretic
well i will not be able to get to work on these not for another 2 weeks. called my local stockist, they need a certain dollar value befor they can order in any gamesworkshop stuff, they estimated about two weeks. grrrr. but yeh, my mates dont care about rules, as long as we can battle, i could proxy everything and they wouldnt care, but i thought i may as well make a go of it and have a full blown army of slaanesh.
im thinking lots of whips. and leather... hmmm. regardless i will post pics.
so imagining this is just a normal noise marines army, how do you guys think i should equip these guys to battle nurgle, khorn and tzeentch all at the same time? keeping in mind its a 1500 pt game and its kind of elimination, basically last man standing game we play, no limited number of turns or anything.
dont have any rules to go off but im thinking my seraphim can take care of tzeentch, since theyre very slow. my daemonettes can take care of khorn, me believing that daemonettes are the strongest in close combat? and normal troops take nurgle. basically all 4 of us will have a daemon prince/ss and im thinking these are whats going to be standing at the end of it all, for a battle royale. or should i move my entire army onto another and wipe them all out befor the other two have a chance?
i know its a lot of info, but once i start typing i cant stop. magic fingers. anyway thanks guys, keep the ideas coming.
The armies you play have a bane aginst daemons. You have agianst you.
Tzeentch-2 wound models
Nurgle-Tough units with Bolters but no heavy weapons.
You get cheap daemons that do well and can have good lords with good powers. Especially Fuelled by Pain and siren. Those 2 together are a deadly combo especially with a good Daemonic Weapon.
So Id go for a strong lord, mix of daemonettes, marines and mounted daemopnettes with different HS maybe preds, maybe defilers and the such. Elites I'd go for maybe some oblits or possessed.
Daemonettes are shock troops.. You don't expect them to ever win combats, you just expect them to make back their points most of the time. They're best deployed against units like terminators, light vehicles and monstrous creatures.
Against khorne.. I'd go with numbers. Lots and lost of close combat noise marines, and maybe one or two ranged (not 5 sonic blaster, but maybe 3) squads with rhinos. Most khorne lists I've seen have overloaded on expensive stuff and forgotten the importance of numbers.. a numerically strong slannesh list can easily swamp khorne berserkers in close combat, especially if you get the charge.
The defiler is an option too.. A lot of khorne players give their squad leaders meltabombs instead of powerfists, meaning that, weapon skill 2 or otherwise, a defiler can still lay down the hurt on them once close combat rears its ugly head. The real virtue though is the ability to pie plate your enemies. This really hurts thousand sons, who I believe are instant killed by the battlecannon.
I hate lords/daemon princes myself, but since slannesh lords are among the nastiest, I can't really blame you for taking one.
I was jsut saying you could use either idea.
Against Khoren it depends on what your friend takes. I've seenzerker squads 230 point sfor 8 men then I've seen 170 (Everything is trimmed) where you get numbers. I believe you need a good lord that can hold its own in combat. Aginst Khorne you'll face something like that except better. Take Rhinos not Inflitrate and make the zerkers chase them while using their cargo to shoot them.
Tzeentch Indirect Fire Defilers work well as they count as moving in difficult terrain don't they or is that old rules? Anyway ordance them the same as you ordance the Nurgle.
If you choose a mission do one where you grab objectives cause Tzeentch will have troubl reaching them, Khorne will ignore them (Its impossible not to, your men just run off) and Nurgle will reach but charge them.
