I know you can't have an army lead by khorne having any slaanesh units and vice versa, same with tzeentch and nurgle, but I have a question (yet again). Can I designate a lieutenant the leader of my army, giving him the mark of nurgle or undivided, thereby taking khorne units and slaanesh units, and still take a khorne lord? My GW army builder lets me fo it if I give the lieutenant the leader designation... But I know it's known for mistakes so I thought I'd ask.
I'm not sure. GW has never really made a ruling on this. At least not to my knowlege.
There once was a Lord named Vlad,
Who's fighting skillz really were mad.
He killed and he maimed,
He spilled blood in Khorne's name.
And the fact that he's legal makes me glad
(special thanks to Uriel Zarium for the last line/touching it up)
If you take a lord, he always sets the armies mark.
If you have no lord, the highest cost lieutenant sets the armies mark.
If you have no lieutenant (for example, a greater daemon) then the highest cost aspiring champion sets the armies mark.
I believe this is described in the marks of chaos section, just under the bit where it talks about favoured enemies, if I'm remembering right.
Close, but not quite,
If you have a Lord/Leiutenant with Undivided Mark,
you CAN have units with marks (Noise Marines, Plague Marines etc) but they fill the Elites section of the FOC. Chaos Codex page 38
Chaos Codex states that units with Mark of Khorne won't march under Slaanesh Lord or vice versa, or Tzeentch to Nurgle etc, But i can't see any evidense of any other exclusions.
So, you can have a undivided Chaos lord, and have a squad of noise marines and a squad of bezerkers (provided you have enough Elites slots free obviously).
Make sense?!?
