Just started a khorne army, so far i have a grand total of 12 berzerkers...... obviously i need another box and a lord.#
However three question....
1. What kind of lord should i buy/convert?
2. Currently I use 'feel no pain', 1 axe of khorne and the rest kornate axes, this works well but it does make them expensive points wise. Could you guys offer what the best wargear for them is?
3. What do i buy once i have my lord and my second troop choice?
I collected Necrons before hand so CC is a new direction for me....
Depends how many points you want to start at. First, I would go for a cheap Lord or Lieutenant - Axe of Khorne, daemonic aura, daemonic mutation, daemonic strength, keeping him nice and cheap, and still a slaying machine.1. What kind of lord should i buy/convert?Expensive? Yes. Worthwhile? Hell yes! If you add, say, Daemonic Strength to that aspiring champion, he will be an UBER killing machine. He really can nail whole squads on his own. With that config I killed 11 Space Marines in a single combat phase.Currently I use 'feel no pain', 1 axe of khorne and the rest kornate axes, this works well but it does make them expensive points wise. Could you guys offer what the best wargear for them is?Thats for you to decide.3. What do i buy once i have my lord and my second troop choice?
I would advise at least 1 squad of Bloodletters.
Don't like Daemons?
Well your opponent will hate them even more. Bloodletters are awesome. for the same stats, a Chaos Space Marine comes in at over double the points. They rule.
You might want to think about some Anti-tank, too. Defilers work well, and a predator would be un-fluffy, but effective.
Want some more hints? Check out my Khorne -Vs- Tyranid Monsterous Creature Battle Report. It shows the true effectiveness of 'ard Aspiring Champions and Bloodletters!

why a defiler as aposed to a dreadnought and then some extra bezies or blood letters? What are flesh hounds like?
A Defiler has a Battle Cannon.why a defiler as aposed to a dreadnought
Excellent for softening up any target who opposes you. Also, the reaper autocannon will come in helpful most of the time at nailing light tanks.
A dreadnought, on the other hand, although cheaper, is unreliable. Because of Blood frenzy/fire frenzy, it makes relying on one a tough call.
I take a dreadnought because I think the conversion I did look cool. However, in all the games I've used it, I tend to never get blood frenzy, and always get fire frenzy, blowing the crap out of my troops.
The difference in points is very little - only about 3 or 4 Zerkers. Not enough to gain the favoured number. That's what you really want - units of 8. Those few extra Zerkers will be more useful in the form of the Battle Cannon.
Flesh Hounds are good, but not great. The risk is them not turning up. You almost always want them on turn 2 so they can charge forward and tie up units. A risk I'm not fond of taking. I'd prefer to buy extra stuff. With the points you could buy a few extra Zerkers and make it worthwhile.
ok well i think youve sold it for me.........
One last thing, what is the deal with the favoured number, all i know is that Khorne's is 8...?
The favored number means that each squad of that size gets a free aspiring champion. At least im 99% sure thats what it is
Each man is but a spark in the darkness.
Would that we all burn as bright.
(5000) Black Templar, (2000) Bretonnia, (3000) Lizardmen, (2000) Cadians, (3000) Chaos Fantasy
I really can't stay focused!
so its 7 marines and then you get a free aspiring champion or 8 marines and then a free champion bringing the total to 9?
Khorne's sacred number mean nothing unless you're playing a pure World Eaters list.Originally Posted by Mercurious

There once was a Lord named Vlad,
Who's fighting skillz really were mad.
He killed and he maimed,
He spilled blood in Khorne's name.
And the fact that he's legal makes me glad
(special thanks to Uriel Zarium for the last line/touching it up)
yeah im going for a world eaters army, gotta love those bezerkers.
Ok i think i've got everything now
Just to clear up any remaining confusion you might have:
You have 8 models in the squad, and then 1 gets upgraded to an aspiring champ for free. The 8th model is not free.
