The person who runs the games workshop games said to me, if a daemon prince has daemonic flight it has to have something to show it can mover like a jetpack, such as wings ect. But i dont know if i should upgrade the daemon prince with wings, if its gonna cost like, £10 to get just the wings and then postage £4.
Is this true??
I absolutely hate it when I'm playing someone, and I've worked out what to do, then suddenly, "Oh, by the way, that Hive Tyrant/Daemon Prince/Other generic uber killy thing has wings."
If you want to use Daemonic Flight, you SHOULD, put wings on him.
However, who said anything about needing wings? you could always convert a sorta...daemonic jump pack.
Daemonic speed lets you move further for cheaper than daemonic flight. The whole point of flight is that you get to model the cool looking wings.
Daemonic speed doesn't really require modelling (especially not on a DP) so I'd say just use it.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
I've never been able to think of a way to model speed, flight is easy, wings, jet pack but how to you model things like strength, toughness and visage etc on a daemon prince who already is muscley, big and scary looking? What have you guy done?
For the Daemonic flight modeling my brother has an iron warriors damon prince with flight and he constructed a large jet pack including flamers and many bits from vehicle sprues.
My understanding, according to the codex, is that you only have to model the differences if the Lord/Leitenant has a certain amount of demonic gifts I believe 50 points.Originally Posted by Caluin
It does say that this is a 'guideline' though.
I would personally say it's very bad sportsmanship not to model a massive difference like flight or mutation. However, can this be said of speed and strength and stuff?
Although, with a demon prince with stature, I guess it's a moot point because they must be modelled appropriately.

Speed definately needs to be modeled and can be fairly easy. I play iron warriors and I have my DP with small tank like body with treads to model speed. I've also come across them modeled with extra limbs by using fantasy horse bodies or chaos hound bodies. Be creative. remember, 40k is not just about playing the games but about the modeling and paiting hobby as well.
Here are two ways I've modeled speed on my D.Princes I've designed and built:
For my Black Legion- I intend to have lead by a nurgle Lord. So, to make it nurgly I did this:
For my alpha legion, I wanted something more subtle, so I did this:
The point being, as long as you use your immagination and come up with something reasonable people will accept it.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
