I played a game at my local GW last night, and found my opponant was using a bolter squad which he said was 'very useful' which i serverly doubted. So, to the point, i swore blind that khorne could not use bolters, having to give them up for bolt pistols and ccws, both the Staff agreed with m, but we couldnt find anything set in stone inside the Chaos codex.
What are your opinions, other than this being a complete waste of potetial for a squad.
I don't have my codex handy, but I believe it says so right in the book of Khorne that they can replace their bp and ccw with a bolter. Look in the section on weapon restrictions.
Khorne Beserkers are still regular CSMs, just with the added bonuses granted by the Mark of Khorne. That means they're allowed to choose between Bolters and BP/CCW. It was mentioned at one point that the reason for this was to allow people to use their old Citadel minis that had Bolters.
Your opponent was correct. He can indeed have Bolters, but they are a waste IMO.

Fluff wise having bolt pistols and ccws makes a lot of sense for bezerkers i mean anyone with the mark of khorne would see having to use a bolter as a supreme punishment, either that or they'd just use it a a club::yes:
Equipped with the latest XV25 Stealth Armour these troops are the 'love wolves' of the Tau army, operating independently of other formations.
This cock up is bought to you by GW Australia.
In the chaos space mairnes designers' notes i think it was, it said that they purposly allowed for berzerkers to have bolters because some old models had berzerkers with bolters.
Khorne cares not from where the blood flows, only that it flows.
Bolters, chainswords, unimportant the source of the killing, so long as there is killing.
