Yes! Buy them now! Gotta buy them all!
No! Are you crazy? Slaanesh daemons are worthless!
Well I know I'm posting a lot of questions lately, but it's mainly because I have a base army now and am wondering what to buy next to fill out certain special areas. Now I admit, that when scanning through my codex, I really didn't look twice at the Emperor's Children, or demons much for that matter. But after tonight, I think I'm convinced that they've got to be one of the most balanced forces as far as cult armies go. I mean they've got sonic blasters to lay down NICE medium range cover fire and the daemonettes are like cheap (albeit weaker) genestealers. Throw in a DP with combat drugs and a KoS and in my opinion you've got a nice list. But of course I'm just going by what I've read and toyed with by crunching numbers.
So here's where my question comes in, and I truly hope this doesn't turn into a flame war because it IS an opinion based question.
What do YOU think of the Emperor's Children army? Those of you who play or have played one, how did you fare? Please do give feedback. I'd like to expand my army and I want to know if it'll be worth the money to go out and pick up the greater daemon and deamonettes to play this sort of force.
Daemonettes are great, but Greater Daemons are subjeck to die quickly.
... try Czech language ;-)
Well I play EC and I have alot of different units, I try to own at least one of everything so I can move my list around. Demonettes are in my opinion the best demon no contest. 15 pts, you get rending, S4 and WS4 with -1 I to the enemy in CC. That's awesome plus they get summoned not deployed so they won't take shooting hits with a little luck and with Favored they come in when you need them. Now the Keeper of Secrets is okay as far as the Greater Demons go. He's great in CC but you have to get his host there. I suggest a Bike, jetpack, Infiltrate etc. for the job if you pick him. My EC army has always faired well and you're right they are the most balanced just beating out Nurgle in my opinion. Glory to Slaanesh!

I don't think it's a case that Daemonettes are amazing and Keeper of secrets aren't.
I think it's more of a case of, daemonettes are easier to use than the keeper of secrets.
Some really experiences players swear by having a greater daemon HQ.
Like everything, it's a tool which has it's purpose.
But yeah, the variety and flexibility of slaanesh really appeals to me. But, I'll be honest, it's blast masters that really do it.

What you have to remember with them is that they are shock troops. You want to summon them, charge, kill their points worth on round one with 3 attacks a pop then hopefully tie up the enemy till your marines charge in.
Just remmeber they are not built for durribility (T3, 5+invult) and wont survive unsupported for very long.
But yes. I try to take 2 squads of 6 if i can get them in my force organization chart. And i always take a KoS i love that guy.
What i love about Daemonettes thouhg is the abilty for them to go wherever you want them to when needed.
True story about daemonettes
2k game Balanced EC army Vs. A pure ork horde list (160 some models, no grots)
In a game lastnight i has a squad of 12 closecombat marines bout 8" from 2 squads of orks and 18" from the 3rd. (85 some boyz in total). Champion burst into the KoS and I summoned 12 daemonettes to the icon bearer with minimal or no scatter each on turn 2.
11 marines, 12 daemonettes and the keeper of secrets waded thru about 65ish boyz in 3 turns before they got dragged down.

I always use a squad of daemonettes.. They aren't as reliable as CC marines in some ways, but generally they will carve a big hole in something before the game ends.
I think the best kill record I ever got for a 6 woman squad in one battle was 6 marine bikers, 4 genestealers (the rest ran back to synapse range), a hive tyrant and a tooled up ork warboss. That was well over quadrouple their points in kills, though the rolling was exceptionally lucky. I thought I was doomed when those genestealers hit. Horray for daemonic saves.
The keeper of secrets is also superb. Apart from one time where he was mind warred in one turn by a farseer, he's always done well in my army. He's very hard to kill once he gets into close combat.
A lot of new EC players go for the mid range firepower army. Trust me, we've all tried it, it doesn't tend to work. Stick with the blastmasters and awesome CC abilities to win the game. Nothing wrong with a sonic blaster or two.. just moderate them. It can get very silly very fast if you let it.
I've never used Daemonettes, because I've never had access to them. I've only ever played dedicated Chaos armies, and not Emperors Children (yet).
Still...I've had them against me on a few occasions, and on those occasions, they've been a real pain in the lower back! :w00t:
