    Rhino's

I had a tournament today and i eventually decided to take 2 Rhino's with 2 of my Berserker squads. From now on, i think Rhino's will be a permanant feature in my army. Even if the berserkers blood frenzy out of them, they make great shields from alot of basic weaponry. So what are your views on using Rhino's in a World Eaters army?

Yeah it sounds cool using them as shields but they have very week armour.

They may have weak armour but unless the person gets 6 on a penetrating hit, the tank stays there as cover, ok the berserkers will have to run through it as a result, but they still wont be able to be shot.

eronmelus came out with a list that used rhinos for this reason.
Apparently it worked for him. I think it make sense so go for it.

The cheekiest thing i've done with rhinos is put a combi melta one one. I swear, i almost made them cry when i bust their landraider... with a rhino.

Rhino's may be weak, but they are cheap.

Never underestimate the amount of firepower some opponents will devote to killing these transports, even if they are empty. Any amount of firepower they draw is that much less incoming towards your other units.

Rhinos are an excellent option in a Khorne army. Since your army doesn't have a lot of firepower, I suggest you equip one of your rhino with a havoc launcher, to hunt those anoying units (like scouts with sniper riffles) that your berzerkers won't be able to reach. It has proved usefull and efficient plenty of time for me.

I just love the shielding they provide, your opponant can become distracted by them and just waste fire on trying to take them out.

I'll say it 'cos no one else has - but unless seriously popped (6 on penetration or ordnance smashed) their wreckages also block LOS.
So the chances are you can create a permanent piece of cover for your boyos. :w00t:

Aren't wrecked vehicles impassible though, making the cover less than optimal?
Everything I have told you, even this, is a lie.

No, wrecked vehicles are difficult terrain, and they count as a great save if you crawl guys into them, check out the cover summary table on pg 25 of the main rule book, it lists wrecks/vehicles under the 4+ cover save.

As for rhinos, I think they are excellent, coffins on weheels. I use 4 in my space wolf army and when used right to deny LOS to different targets, its an excellent option. you just gotta remember that the turn you want to assault(or the turn before) disembark and drive your rhino up to block LOS to your guys that were inside.
