As you can see, a regular CSM squad fails their Morale test 28% of the time when under 50% strength. With a Champ, they do it 16% of the time. But if we give them the Mark, the chances suddenly become only 8 and 3 per cent respectively. That's very close to Fearlessness in my opinion.Code:Ld Failing rolls Fail chance Rerolled 12 1 0.028 0.001 11 1 0.028 0.001 10 3 0.083 0.007 9 6 0.167 0.028 8 10 0.278 0.077 7 15 0.417 0.174 6 21 0.583 0.340 5 26 0.722 0.522 4 30 0.833 0.694 3 33 0.917 0.840 2 35 0.972 0.945
Alpha Legion Cultists with this mark suddenly have better leadership than CSM without it.
And your units do not suffer extra wounds for being Fearless to boot.
In other words, MoCU is grrreat. Do not leave home without one.
Yeah, mocu is fantastic to normal morale tests... The only problem I've encountered with it (other than a really unlucky set of rolls) was when I had several other modifiers. Things like psychic scream or just being very outnumbered in a lost combat can really hurt.
Nice. Very nice. I applaud your calculations onodera.
With a basic leadership higher than the so called 'emperor's chosen' i reroll at a cheap price is incredibly.
It's saved my ass time and time again.
excellent work onodera
Another of what i like to call "mathhammer" I love doing calculations like this.
SO anyway, double checked your numbers and they are spot on.
Also i think its cool to note who reseaves the most benifit from this.
LD 6 and 7 will both pass 24.03% more of their moral checks because of it. (thats those cultist you talked about)
LD 9 will only pass 13.88% more
LD 10 will only pass 7.63% more
However for the amount of points you pay for it, its a dead on deal...
TOo bad i play emperor's children.

My only question is how can Ld11 and Ld12 have the same chance of failing. And yes I know they are both impossible to get in game (technically commissar can get Ld11).
To fail Ld 11 you must roll exactly 12.
To fail Ld 12 you must roll more than 12 (which is impossible), but AFAIR, rolling 12 is still a failure.
And in any case, the highest you can get is Ld 10, and with MoCU reroll it's better than Fearlessness, in my opinion.

With fearlessness, that wouldn't have happened.
However, it's nice not to tempt fate, and also to be immune to several annoying specialist powers, like psychic choir, and necron flayed ones visage etc.
But fearlessness will get you smacked around by no retreat. An aspiring champion with MoCU for LatD does wonders. A 30 man squad with low leadership suddenly becomes a better than fearless rampaging horde.
Hence the grotesque cost for the mark...Originally Posted by LordLink
hmm.. LATD sounds more and more appealing every day...
