I proxyed one w/ (autocannon and sp of H. Bolter) and it mowed down guards men.
I also took Mutated Hull! I've come to the conclusion that this helps ALOT. It lower my buddy Lascannon shots enough that it survived the game, all three tanks.
Also, I've been noticing, people really don't expect Mutated Hull all that much, so other than Eldar, it works really well. Tau no so much but it helps.
Also I am giving all my vehicles Smoke launchers from now on, as most armies today are geared to talking out tanks even in smaller games, and this helps so much.
I know a good amount of you figured this out but I am giving this insight to new players.
Mutated hull is brilliant on paper and on the field if you can afford it. You don't realise how good AV14 is until you come across it.
Lictor above, chose the perfect combination against nid/guard/dark eldar etc etc.
I agree fully with smoke launchers. You lose a round of shooting, but it means you can deploy out of site and not face first turn destruction which is always a bit disheartening.
Personally, my favourite is Autocannon, Las cannon Sponsons and daemonic possession. Cheap and frighteningly effective. If I could afford it, then naturally, parasitic and mutated hull too

It all depends on who you're playing against. Against many armies, Mutated Hull more than pays for itself. The problem comes when you play against Eldar, Dark Eldar, and Necrons. Against those armies, Mutated Hull is a complete and utter waste of points.
However, Daemonic Possession is always useful. No matter who you face up against, Daemonic Possession simply makes your vehicles more resilient.
Of course, if you can afford to give Predators both of them, then you're golden.
What are peoples opinions of mutated hull on a dread, you see i have a cunning plan.....
Equipped with the latest XV25 Stealth Armour these troops are the 'love wolves' of the Tau army, operating independently of other formations.
This cock up is bought to you by GW Australia.
I usually don't take chaos dreadnoughts in the first place, but I guess Mutated Hull on a dreadnought could work. It'd be expensive pointwise though, and I rather just take a Predator instead, or spend on points on something else. What are peoples opinions of mutated hull on a dread, you see i have a cunning plan.....
Iv'e never actually used a Dread with mutated hull though, so it might work well. If your curious about how it'll fair, try it out in a freindly game, and see how it does.
I do not like Dreadnought that much really, I havent gotten much out of the one I have but thats me. M Hull is fun on it though, especially when people forget i have it and charge it with kraks only.
I would gladly take Mutated Hull on a Chaos Dreadnought.
Armour 13 is just perfect. I always groan when I lose my Dreadnought (SM) and wish that I could make it more survivable (Venerable tends to be sketchy).
I'd take it any day.
A dreadnought with mutated hull actually works rather well especially when you happen to get into cc with a power fist it really gives you a much longer survivability even against missles

I played against a defiler last night with mutated hull. It was one of the most annoying parts of that army. It didn't help that I couldn't roll "average" to save my life, but it made all the difference from it being blown up first turn, to it surviving(losing its battle cannon) till the end of the game. I can say, that at least for me, when I saw it, I first thougth "AV 12, this will be easy" and shot my autocannons at it instead of my obliterator's lascannons. Normally, my autocannons could have more than handled the job, but since it was a LaTD army, my ACs really should have picked better targets. The point is, it was an unpleasant suprise that will allow your normally AV 12 guy to probably survive another turn if your oponent under-estimates.
