I'm a DH and IG player and thought it would be cool to create a chaos DH squad led by a fallen =][= Lord, that was the fluff... is there any type of Chaos force that can suit up for that?
I'm not to up to the play with Chaos, from what I have seen you can get fallen SM and IG.. what about =][='s?
Thanks for your help
The other thing is.. can you get assasins?
The closest you can get is probably the Word Bearers force, but it's still not the kind of force you're looking for.
I'm afraid Chaos Daemonhunters is something you can't have without stretching the rules.
Grey Knights are not the option (they are considered infallible), but a force led by a Radical Inquisitor could be chaosified. But you can't mix and match different army lists.
Either you make a Radical =][= list with "tainted" IG (using rules from Codex: DH and Codex: IG), or a Chaos Space Marine/Lost and the Damned list (using Codex: CSM and/or Codex: Eye of Terror, which you can get for free from the GW site), creating some fluff about your too Radical =][= sprouting horns and hooves.
Are you going looks-wise? Fluffwise? or Ruleswise?
If you want to be Chaos you CANNOT have assassins.
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
If it's based upon fluff, then Word Bearers are the army most likely to return to the Imperium. Prior to the heresy they desired to establish a cult following around the Emperor. But the Emperor did not want worshipers; he wanted warriors, and thus bannished them from the Imperium. It's been a while since I've read the fluff, but I believe this is roughly what happened.
Why not make yorself a the Lost and the Damned army with Word-bearer allies? You could have a fallen inquisitor as Arc-Heretic and either ally a WB-fallen apostle as your GK-boss, units in his precense becoming fearless and all. Then add some Terminators/ CSMs and call them fallen grey knights, or use some CSM-champs as GKs and mobs of angry people as mutants.
The low Ld of any Traitors is easily explained with them beginning to wonder if this really is a worthy cause.
I definitely think that LaTD would be your best bed.
An arch heretic for the Inquisitor Lord with a smattering of insane followers, unaware of their own perversions.
I don't think Word Bearers would be suitable simply because at the end of the day they're still a Space marine chapter, they just happen to subjugate and use daemons.
Lost and The Damned.
If you are looking to go modelling with this, I think that a squad of grey knights would look badass converted for chaos. Or their terminators converted for some chosen termies. As long as you weren't trying to use their stats or rules, then to hell with it, and just do it. As long as you explained things to the person before the game, and they are painted appropriately (obviously chaos), then I wouldn't worry about anything else. Personally.
Don't get me wrong. I am a fluff-hound. But I think the fluff is there for the players as a guideline.
Ultimately, have fun.
