My question is about the slaanesh minor psyker power, siren. In the codex it states:
"The psyker may not be targeted by shooting attacks or assaulted this game turn."
Now... I have always assumed this to mean that you would pick to ignore EITHER shooting attacks OR being assaulted (Meaning they could do one and not the other)
However... I am wondering if maybe it is meant to mean they can't do either, meaning you're immune to both.
If so... I don't think I'll ever NOT take a minor psyker power.
You are correct - it means that you are immune to both close combat attacks and shooting attacks, as the enemy can't target you with either.
However, I believe it also states that you can't use this power when in base to base contact with an enemy model, so be careful when in CC.
Yeah if the power was you got to choose either or it would be good, but considering that it's both phases, it just makes it fantasic!
Just be prepared for cries of cheese when it is used. At least that's what my friends do when I mention it. =P
Just make sure to take enough psychic powers to ensure you get it, otherwise you might be up the proverbial creek without the paddle.
Everything I have told you, even this, is a lie.
Buying 7 minor powers to make sure you get Siren is cheese, yes, but if you only buy 1 or 2 then they can't moan at you. If they do, tell them to take it up with the dice gods.
You can't use Siren when in BtB, and you're immune to being attacked in combat if you use it, but can you still be charged? Your enemy wouldn't be able to hurt you but they'd be denying you of any charge bonuses you'd recieve.
Perhaps cheese is a strong word that gets thrown around a lot. What I should've said was that yes they do have to spend upwards of 50+ points to get all those minor powers, but what really hurts is that they get Siren, Fueled by Pain, etc. You have this Lord / Daemon Prince that is already great, and then you add all of these great abilities on top of that.
Generally I like to take one, maybe two if I have the points, but I hate to rest my Lord's existance on the presence of Siren. It's good, but if the availability of the power shouldn't make or break the army list.
Relying on any aspect of an army list is a bad idea- everything has to work together. Unless you're a twelve year old kid with a Khornate Chosen Squad of Death and 250 point Lord riding in a Land Raider. I hate those kids.
