Reading through the codex I noticed that it states that any fast attack, heavy suport, or troop unit that bears a mark of chaos that is different than that of the HQ becomes an elite choice. I am curious if this works for vehicles too... the rulebook states that dedicating a vehicle is different than applying a mark but is otherwise vague. It would be pretty cool if I could field like 6 dreadnoughts lol... since you can technically field 6 bike squadrons or havoc squads.
No, it doesn't work for vehicles. If it did, then the Black Legion would be the best army in Chaos
I think you're confusing Dedication and marks.
Marks belong to Infantry that show what part of chaos that particular Marine worships.
I.E. A Berserker has the Mark of Khorne, because he worships Khorne.
Dedication of vehicles is simply how the vehicle has aspects that reflect a particular chaos god.
I.E. A Destroyer Rhino has hurty and pointy aspects on the hull, that is reminiscent of Khorne.:shifty:
In short, marks only apply to Infantry.
