Thousand Sons is a hard army to fit in a lot of cool stuff. This is, of course, due to the high (!) point cost of our models. When calculating chosen or possessed, things quickly get out of control.
The problem is that by taking the Mark of Tzeentch, one must use it to its full potential or else waste its advantages. The other problem is that taking advantage of it means investing even more points.
Do you have any relatively sane Tzeentchian chosen or possessed builds?
Talons, 4 Doombolt.
Used as a medium-close fire support and counter assualt unit. Can shoot with 8 strength 5 ap4 hits before charging with rending. About same cost as the standard 9 man Bolt of Change Tsons unit.
actually, Thousand Sons player who use possessed or chosen are pretty rare because they are not so good, people usually go with Squad of 9Sons in a Rhino with a Thrall, a good spell and a power fisted champion, add in some lascannon predator or lascannon dreadnaught, thats like the base.
Squad of 10 Chosen. - 1140
Terminator Armour X10
Aspiring Champion X10
+Mark of Tzeentch X10
-Bolt of Change X10
-Thrall Wizard X20
Daemonic Resilience X10
L. Claw X10
Tank Hunters X10
(I actually found this unit in one of Caluins posts... )
Joking....well, maybe if you were playing a 10000 point game or something  :shifty:

I'm not using those expensive choices often, but every once in a while I field my Possessed with wings. They are great fun to use as a "Blast expensive enemy units to smithereens in one turn"-unit. I field five or six with a tooled up champ, the unit comes with maybe four winds of Chaos...
They are fragile though, but in dense terrain and with Rubrics keeping assaulter's out of their way, they might last for some turns.
Very fun unit as it gets more attention then even the most vicious-looking Defiler. An opponent will toss any plan he might have had to get those flyers...
But that's about it for me. I will soon build me some Possessed and Chosen, but that's more like modeling projects then to get an edge on the board.
Centum, where ever he is now, used to field two units of Possessed sacred units in LandRaiders. But he played some massive-point games. He told us they were really good. He used to give them all Gift of Chaos if I recall correct, and I think that would be the best spell to use for CC-units like these as it allows you to create quite a few ablative wounds.
I'm probably the only (remotely) sane person who will use thousand sons chosen in a battle un 10,000pts
I say Chaos=fun-fun army...(being an Imperial Player at heart...)
I use them all the time (because of their high points costs)...the sad thing is...they are my army filler...Whenever I play a relitivly high point battle...Ithrow in the chosen, so I can match my opponent...sure it's not the most tactically sane thing to do...bue heck, we're chaos aren't we?
