Is it really worth it?
like do any of you guys use it to a good extent?
Or is it only good as a point-filler?
Always use it. Free wounds.
Just watch out if you have it in a Black Legion army, it can cause wounds to any non-vehicle that doesn't have the Mark of Nurgle.
It works quite nicely against opponents with low armor, like some IG, nids, Eldar and so on. Against MEQ it doesn't worl quite as well, but you might still get some free wounds out of it in a game.
It is not a problem if you have a Kult army, but can cause problems if you have an army with mixed marks. In that case you have to start rolling for your own models also.
I think the concensus here is that most people find it worth it in Kult armies. (I certainly do). And if I have some points left over I always use it. It is also very fluffy.
But then again I also use Plague bearers

also consider teleport homers, for the same cost. I like teleport homers.
You can also give two aspiring champions scary face upgrade and STILL have a point left over! One whole point! Fancy that.
You could also give a plague/power sword wielding champion daemonic strength.
Not to put you off, just to give you perspective of what else you can afford.
Technically, all you have to do is kill a gaunt to get your points back. But you're still paying for everyone that has it, so technically, everyone would have to kill at least 1 gaunt with nurgle's rot to make their points back. It's a little too unreliable IMHO. If nurgle's rot could stack.. now that would be good.
I'll take it when I can, but does Nurgle really need any help in CC? With high toughness truegrit basic troops? With Manreapers? With Plague Banners?
For Nurgle, mobility seems like a bit more of a key issue to me, so that's why i'd personally go with teleport homers.. of course, that requires the use of oblits or nurglators.

If you play DG or at least Nurgle dominated Black Legion (75-80% MoN) take it every time. I played against my friends Daemonhunters the other day, very fun, fluffy battle. I killed 3 Grey Knights, a Grey Knight Terminator, and caused a wound on his Grandmaster. Pretty good for a 5 point upgrade. I spent 30 points giving it to my AC's and killed about 6 times that amount of points. The cost will certainly go up in the new dex, or at least the cult dex, whenever that comes out. VERY good upgrade, cheers.
