Hi I am new and I started with Nurgles army ( Death Guard)
I have One Chaos Lord and Two Troop forces. What should I get next. I don't want possessed, Rhino,
Or any tanks ( exclude Dreds.)
Seriously though. Plague marines are insanely hard, and like Alpha Legion, a large group of plague marines really pays off.
There's that or daemons. Or terminators. Or dreads.
So .. to be honest. more plague marines I guess.
What I was thinking is though I forgot to say is tat I want some unit that can kill a carnifex
What can kill a carnifex? In a Death guard army?
Plague marines. two melta guns. An aspiring champ with a power fist. (the whole plague sword VS new synapse is an ugly debate, so let's just say power fist).
Shoot it, take off a wound, 2 if lucky. Then beat it up and break it's knees.
Plague bearers are great too, simply because they can swamp it in wounds with their daemonic venom.
Chaos HQs can really slice through a carnifex, especially Dark Blade equiped ones.. although it's a bit of a risk, because any counter attack will kill you outright. It's fun though.
Plasma havocs absoutely hammer all TMCs.
Aah.. so many ways to kill a carnifex.
Defilers are always good too, they're like super dreads!
But yeah, more Troops. When ever a single model costs around 20 points, its a good idea to stock up, look at Grey Knights, who would have even thought 50 models could wipe out a 'nid horde army in 4 turns? They might not be able to do it EVERY time, but often enough!
And you want to kill Carnies eh? Go with the MEltagun, the Meltagun is practically the answer for EVERYTHING, well, almost everything, but on Plauge MArines they are!
And nobody likes to see Plauge Terminators walking at em!
I have to agree with all of the above.
I am in the process of building a Death Guard army, and Plague Marines are the sh*t! They are really tough and versatile. They are great vs everything. Shoots good and powerfull and decent in CC.
Now I have 5 units but I'm thinking of building more.
Just remember that you dont have to use the metal Plague Marines for every model. If you combine the metal parts with some regular CSM or loyalist marines you get a much more diverse and interesting looking army. And don't be afraid to buy some green stuff (GS) and try it out. GSing nurgle is really easy and fun!
One box of metal Plague Marines easilly makes 14 great looking Plague Marines! I've built my 35 figures of two boxes of Plague Marines, the rest is spare loyalist parts and rebuilt and painted marines I got from E-bay dirt cheap plus some GS.
