was wondering how people usually represent their chaos icons? i play death guard and as there's only 1 available, i wanted to check how others do it.
I think most people just slap it in their Champion so that they don't need to model anything, etc. IDK. It's kind of a...limited use model. You need to use daemons a lot. So armies like the Word Bearers would probably be one of the few who would take the time to model them.
"If you can wait til I get home, then I swear we can make this last."
It's not like I have a Champ in every squad. But most of the time I take some model use a Fantasy banner and slap model that on the said Chaos marine. The other hand of him can still hold a bolter or anything. For my Khorne Champ I slapped on an Icon from the vehicle sprue on top of a little extension on his backpack... much like normal marines have.
The metal model with the banner has really limited use... and it's not even that good looking
I usually model the banners on a separate 25 mm base by themselves. This base is then placed next to the aspiring champion. Or whichever model is carrying it.
That makes transport and storage a lot easier. I can also remove them from the table after all deamons have arrived, which makes handling the minis a lot easier, too.
Shut up and play.
I traded bits to my space-marine friend and he gave me the sergaent banners, usually stick them on the AC's backpack, helps me tell them apart (I usually don't run wargear-equipped ACs in my shooty squads).
