I was just wondering what are the best ways to use traitors in a LaTD force. I was thinking of having two five man squads with rocket launchers (dont say "miss"ile...please not another 1) and one 15 man strong group. If it helps I am using death guard with the list and do not have a complete squad of mutants yet (so dont just say "why not use mutants instead")
A prisoner of war is a man that tries to kill you and fails, and then asks that you not to kill him.
Well.. to take 5 man squads of traitors, you need some mutants. If used as a core force organization choice, traitors have to be full sized squads.. 20 overpriced guardsmen with a heavy weapon and a special weapon.. Mmm.. I think I'll pass.
Am I allowed to be really cynical and say:
The best use for traitors in an LaTD army is 2 groups of 6 men in their pants. Why? So you have access to 2 Leman Russes.
Ok, they make intersting very basic fire support. They can be infiltrated and have and icon, so make excellent summoning posts for furies.
They best serve as a bother to the enemy, maybe get a few lucky shots here and there. Remember, while they aren't cheap, any shots fired at the traitors is less against your Death Guard.

The best uses for traitors IMO is to get tanks and block enemy infiltrators. I have two squads of 10 with a flamer and shotguns+ the agitator with a PF ( purley for fluff ) just so I can field 2 hell hounds. Traitor units are kinda okay for a sit and shoot or to distact the enemy but they are so squishy even las guns are a serious threat to them.
Bottom line take traitors to get tanks.
