Would it be possible? would it be worthwhile?
a biker lord, chosen champions on bikes (very expensive but 5 attacks on the charge :yes
daemons for troops and maybe, maybe a pred or 2 for hvy support
of course i'll also take the regular fast attk bikes, but i can have khorne bikers for elites as well
my games will probably be above 1000 but below 1500
what do you think? would it work?
That would be what we might call a nemesis army..
My guess, sometimes, it will destroy the enemy utterly and leave only smoking boots. Others, it will fall flat on its face. That tends to be the way it works with nemesis armies.
I say skip the chosen bikers, bikes are expensive as they are.
I've seen a Khorne list at LO (can't remember where) with 3 Bike squads, 2 Bloodletter squads and 2 Lieutenants on bikes. Seemed like fun =)
You could probably do something similar with black legion or whatever. You would have trouble fitting preds in with the points of bikers, so stack up on power fists and meltas. You should be up in your opponents face ASAP anyway.
"And that, my liege, is how we know the earth to be banana-shaped"
power fists come as standard on all my champions.
also i was thinking that seeing as i can mark a unit or 2 and put them in elites section, maybe i could get some daemonic beasts? are they worth it at all?
It is a very extreme/specialized army. Very hard hitting and very fast. So if you get your movement right you can attack one part of your opponent's army and wipe them out completely and the kill the rest (kind of like a refused flank on speed).
The problem I can see with this army is that is doesn't have much staying power and might have problem against vehicle based shooty armies.
So some Orc and Tyranid army can simply throw cheap models at you and drag you down with sheer numbers. Some Eldar and Tau armies might be able to evade your charge and shoot you down in the process.
Shut up and play.
I prefer the term 'gimmick army' personally.
Nemesis makes it sound vaguely dynamic.
I think night lords is begging for this list really. The idea of furies leap frogging off bikers is really quite appealing.
It'd be expensive but i think it would be fun too
Personally, I wouldn't but good luck.
