Since I started playing warhammer 40k, I have played chaos space marines. Unfortunatly I don't think I will be for much longer. I have been reading all sorts of rumors about the new chaos space marines codex. Such as there will be no individual cult armies, all daemons stats are going to be the same, only certain nunits can take certain gear, and sad stuff like that. Up until now I have played a Death Guard army. I want to pick a new army similar in play style to them. So I was wondering if anyone could point me in an army I would be happy with. I qould very much appreciate it...
or maybe something a little different like
FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!!!
"The only hatred any man should hone, is hatred against himself for not being able to serve the Emperor to his full extent. This is the hatred he should unleash upon the enemy, and in doing so, the Emperor will protect."
Master Lucius, Chapter Master of the Noble Templars
Smoke stack.. you do realise that Death Guard are looking to be devastatingly powerful in the next codex?
Especially if they get feel no pain and full access to havocs.
Let's not make any rash decisions eh? Chaos is for life, not just for Christmas .

Lol, yeah, marines with some heavy (support that is) traits would be a good start. Or....
[newsflash] Do like massive amounts of guns? Do you love to blow you enemy up? Do you have an obssesion with the heaviest armour this side of terra? Do you have a callous disregard for the lives of those under your command??? Then the Imperial Guard is for you! [/newsflash]
Lol, you could even paint them evil and take evilish doctrines and make them a traitor group!

Chaos is for life. Don't be a quitter. I'm sure half of these rumors will end up being false. At least stick with it until the new codex comes out... then play a few games and if you don't like it, then switch to IG. It'd be a shame to waste so much time, money, and effort building a Chaos army only to quit because of "rumors".
You can't run away. All the armies are going to be "streamlined" like Eldar, DA and Chaos.
Yes, Undivided Legions are pretty much screwed, but you play Death Guard. They and Kilosons look like the new scary Chaos armies.
Hive Fleet Fuzzy Bunny: Lots and lots of points of Nids (4000pts+)
The Chapter of the Damned: 5500pts of Dark Angels
The Children of Fulgrim: 5-6000pts of Emperors Children
The Kabal of the Bloodied Claw: 2000pts of Dark Eldar
an army similar in style to deathguard? relative few troops able to soak up a lot of damage?
deathwing terminator army might play something like (i wouldn't know, i never played them, but they seem similar)
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
The only legal army that is like Death guard (in terms of equipment) are Salamanders. In terms of rules (+1T), theres an old set of rule for an army that has thick bones and skin, increasing their resistances to being wounded.
Sons of Antaeus
But they aren't usable. Sorry.
My friend thinks Grey Knights are similar to Death Guard because of the True Grit dealie, but I hate GK (except for their models, I hate their rules but I would certainly paint their models) so this is nothing more than a suggestion for you: I wouldn't paly them but you might enjoy them. That association might also be a bit misconcieved because GK are much more offensive in my mind that DG but I guess something to look into?
If the DG-likeness is not important then all I can give you is my personal opinion, if i were to start another army I would start Tau, but I'm all about the Chaos, there are just so many different ways to play them. I actually played Witch Hunters for a while and have always leaned towards Imperial Guard, but WH didn't stick and I have no funds for an IG army (and one of my few WarHammer friends plays IG already so I couldn't really get away with it in my mind, not until I graduate High School and move away)
