First off, I'm not a Nurgle player. What do you want want with either? I think Typhus looks pretty much more solid in CC. The great unclean one (GUO) has more wounds and can take some psyker powers.
GUO does more damage due to high strength though. Therefore Typhus has the manreaper and gets, in most cases, a s**tload of attacks. Also for GUO you'd have to sacrifice an Asp. champion as he needs a daemonvessel, so I'd take the points for that single plague marine into account. Typhus can deepstrike. If you plan on giving GUO Winds of chaos, Typhus already has that.
So basically, just look at the stats and their abilities. They both have a hefty pricetag (in points that is) and then decide what you need. Also, if you take Typhus you can include a retinue; something GUO can't.
Anyway, I would go for Typhus, he looks more flexible to me.
I would say neither. When I play Death Guard or BL with some Nurglish Infiluences I usually go with an Infiltrating Manreaper as an HQ. This work esppecially well if you have lots of other infiltrators so you don't get sat on first turn, which coincidentally also couples nicelys with Nurgle's Rot
for the price of the GUO (Great Unclean One) you get:
Infiltrating Reaper of Men:
Mark of Nurgle, Manreaper, Dæmonic Strength, Dæmonic Speed, Dæmonic Aura, Infiltrate, Frag Grenades
And you may not need all of that (Aura?)
If I really had to choose though, I would probably say the GUO because Typhus is so incredibly inefficient. For 80 points less the only thing you really lose is the 2+ armor save, and you gain the ability to ignore insta-kills based on toughness, 2 more wounds, a better invulnerable, higher strength, and you strat out in reserves, which I very much like about Greater Dæmons, but maybe that just because (as I love to point out so much) my #1 opponent is the Railgun-toting Tau.

Send me a hello if you remember me.
Personally I like typhus. I love the model and the fluff, and the rules arent really that bad. If you don't have the train of thought that he will march right through your opponent's army then you should be fine with him.
I usually use him and a unit of 6 Nurgle termies with 2 reaper ACs and all with Pfists, and a plague sword champ. Yea it's expensive but i like uber units and im a risk taker and it pays off most of the times. I play my games usually out of fluff instead of winning, so I use Typhus a lot.
Just deep strike him by a isolated unit, wind them and then charge with a manreaper.......unit = gone. And they're usually tough enough to withstand the eventual firepower they will receive. But it's not for eveybody, like I said I'm a risk taker and I like playing "fluffy" armies.
I think I'd go for the GUO. Not that I really know what I'm talking about (I never played DG) but to have a massive multiwound blob of pain and agony pop up behind (or even better within) enemylines would be more then enough to distract any opponent and force them into changing their battleplan. Something that might come very handy for a "slow" army such as DeathGuard.
It gives you control.
Typhus on the other hand is one of the best looking models ever made, he has the coolest minor magics in the game and he comes with a manreaper (that means you could have two anreapers in one army)...
I understand your peril, but I say Go GOU go.
This answer is something of a cop-out, but it should depend on the composition of the rest of your army and what themes you were hoping to use.
Toxic - you need to be able to ask questions a bit more constructively if people are going to help you to the level you need buddy.
Whether you choose GuO or Typhus depends upon a lot of factors in your army.
Are you using Terminators?
Are you using other daemons?
Is your army purely DG?
Do you mean from a modelling perspective?
Do you intend to eat one of them?
Perhaps which one will fit better inside your left nostril?
What point level are you playing?
Help us to help you.

I would go with typhus. Having two man reapers in one army is really painful. Check the errate it states "Daemon weapons carried by special characters do not count toward the 0-1 limit." Now you cant make typhus infiltrate but pack him in a landraider with some termies and you got yourself a bucket of sludgtastic fun.
