Can anyone explain them in a bit more detail please?
I don't think the chaos one explains them in enough detail and I'm not very good understanding much of the codex.
From what I can see they seem melee orientated? I've played against Khorne as orks, but I was only a beginner with aid from my friend.
What I do remember is a whole squad of my orks getting butchered. I have lost with orks of course, and I know they have their problems but I've not had this happen too many times before.
Can anyone explain them in seom more detail please?
Don't understand the codex at all and I have never seen them played before.
I have made plans to use this army. I like close combat armies but that can still moderately ranged. I also like they're fearless and they're warp scream abilities.
I don't understand any psycher stuff...I ask someone to please explain the concept of this army? Do they have anything worth playing?
I gathered from what I read their shooting Oriented...Seen them played rather cheesily, I'll pass on them all together.
These guys I can't understand. Explain advatages and disadvatages please?
I understand what they can do all though I don't know to what effects infiltration can be used. Please explain advantages and disadvantages?
World Bearers are not for me and I don't want black legion.
I'm sorry about all these questions, but I want to pick a definate cult that I can stick with.
I don't want to end up picking slaanesh, Emperor's children in particular and getting skrewed around after I paint them.
The short short version...
Khorne: good demons. if you are going Khorne then its all about melee. Fire support is weak and the zerkers easily get baited so alot of people tend to rely on bloodletters also known as a Khorne piniata where you have one small bike squad turboboost across the field and then let loose 1000 points or more worth of hounds and bloodletters. (although the piniata works best with slaanesh) Anything MoK will run amok so you can forget about heavy/special weapons that arent assualt. mostly outgunned or outsmarted by shooty armies and out CC:ed by nids.
Nurgle: resiliant. above average tougness makes them very hard to kill off. generally considered to have bad demons but there is a debate regarding plague bearers... they are actually not too shabby imho.
Slaanesh: very versatile works great in both cc and shooting. best demons. works both as a regular marine army and a demon piniata. The added I (or rather well... you know what I mean) makes for some very nasty cc units.
Tzeentch: supposedly a psyker army but the spells are simply... bad. pretty good at medium range shooting and very resiliant vs small arms. 1k sons armies have a horrible point cost per model though so expect to be outnumbered... always. 1k sons do not work at all at 1000 points or less. 1k sons lack long range anti tank support so they are somewhat difficult to play.
Iron warriors: CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE!!!! 9 oblitz 4 defilers or why not 22 lascannons at 1500 points? don't expect to make alot of friends playing this army.
Night Lords: CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE 4+ cover saves galore sit and shoot type of army. for some reason does also have the option of fielding up to 40 raptors but why on earth would anybody want to do that?...
Alpha legion: mmm a bit of everything. I hear they rely alot on infiltration. Don't ahve alot of experience with this army.
Bottom line is only Slaanesh and Nurgle are stable enough to run as cult armies 1k sons lacks long range punch and World Eaters are simply too hit or miss. I'd suggest picking something for either their looks or the backstory. have fun
but then again expect caluin to disagree with everything I wrote above.
Thanks very helpful.
I'm not a big fan of khorne...they seem rather about just rolling dice than anything tactics.
So far still loving Slaanesh though.
Don't go and throw all IW players into the same basket, every army has it's rotten apples, I play IW and there's plenty of people who jump at the chance of fighting me.
yes well some of the IW rules may be cheesey such as the ability to take 9 oblits 2 defilers a bassie and a vindicator, but not all players use these options. Many will just use the two elites slot to use 1 oblit each so they each can pick their own target. IW have the ability to be the cheesiest army on the table, but we must respect and honor the players that don't cheese it up and put up a heck of a fight.
40,000- 7,000 Points Chaos Space Marines=18 and 17
40,000- 2,500 Points Tau Empire=1 and 2
Sorry. I don't want to play an army that can do anything like that at all. I know I would most likely end up doing it.@Pnademonium

Definately do not lop all of us iron warrior players together; I don't field any oblits in my army (just four dreadnoughts kitted out for horde hunting and laughing at most firepower thrown at them.)
[Anyway, cheese is the label people give to an army when they are unable or incapable of defeating it.]
Besides, there are worse armies out there; much worse and much 'cheesier'.

Just beer in mind the new codex in September(?)... Though the cults will have the same fluff sort off, the rules will probably change and the Alpha legion, nightlords, IW and Word bearers special rules will be gone...
check out the "OMGZ new chaos codex thred" (or something like that...)
Yep, the codex is soon to be updated so before starting a new chaos army check out the rumors thread just in case all your cheese suddenly becomes ilegal or nerfed to oblivion. I hear 1k sons are in for a boost so my previous post may be obsolete by september.
As for what is cheese well 22 lascannons is cheese if you use standard amount of terrain and if you as an IW player is half smart about deployment. with 9 oblitz nothing is going to want to assualt you and mind you defilers can fight back in cc too just not very good. add a statured lord and you can't argue with the army at range and you will ahve to little left when you enter cc to kill of 18 wounds of powerfist temies aka oblitz. imho IW is cheese. on the other hand if you use more terrain or favourably placed terrain to block los IW is less cheese...
