Although it has been a long time since ive relased my chaos minions in a battle, there has always been a question bugging me. It never says that you have to give a unit of marines the MoCU, so do you have to pay the points for them? Or do we truely get marines for fewer points then the Space Marines?
We really do get marines for fewer points. A shocker yes i know but we do.
This could potentially be remedied in the new codex, however, so don't be shocked when they change it on you.
You do and you don't. Rather than having the And They Shall Know No Fear special rule, you either get the MOCU for the same cost, or a lowered point cost.
But they aren't identical, just extraordinarily similar.
I definitely enjoy having a higher leadership for less (be it a very small difference) but the And they shall know no fear rule saves your butt when your dice conspire against you and you end up losing combat to 3 ripper bases and get run down by those little buggers.
but eh thats just me
But thankfully most of the time the higher leadership prevents that from happening
Chaos Marines - W:91 L:32 D:6
Imperial Guard- W:22 L:7 D:0
Space Marines- W:20 L:4 D:2
Best leadership + Reroll = better than fearless.
Time and time again, I've lost plague marines and noise marines simply because, they autopass morale checks and then have to take armour saves.
The reroll is a godsend, because it gives you more chance of jamming the leadership test without any ill effects.
As far as we're aware MoCU remains the same in the new codex... I just hope that we keep our superior leadership.
