    Ultramarines

I was thinking of making my space marines ultramarines. I like the color scheme that they are. That is mainly what I'm going on... If you think I'm making a big mistake for some reason or you think its a good idead i would like to hear from you. I would like to hear your input on the ultramarines and/ or other suggestions for a first army!

    Ultramarines

I like you choice of army (I play them myself).

Some tips for you first army:

    Tactical squads!!!!!!
I recomend atlest two ten man squads with heavy weapon (missile launcher/heavybolter) and a special weapon (plasmagun, flamer, meltagun).

A Chaplain is a good Hq you get allot for those 70pts. Chose terminator honours, and a bolt or plasma pistol and you have a good hq for about 100pts

One whirlwind, my army never leaves home without one. For 75pts it's a bargin =)

An recomendation is to ad atlest one fastmoving element (assault sq, bike sq, a squad mounted in a rhino)

You could try and play a few small games with this and then expand with that you think is missing

In addition to the ones already mentioned I'd go for some Devestators, preferably equipped with at least two plasma cannons.

What about Rhinos? Are the APC useful in battle?

(Give me a hundred of Space Marines. Or, failing that, give me a thousand other men)))

The Rhino can be extremly useful in the right mission. I would definitely consider a Rhino

I'd prefer to use landspeeders rather than a bike squad for my fast attack.

If it's not too late, I would go with a chapter other than Ultralatrines. THey are overused by newbies. Make your own up, it is a lot more fun.

i was tempted to go for Ultramarines as a beginner,
but then when i saw how many people played them i flicked through my codex and found the Aurora Chapter,
which are still ultramarines, but they look cooler! :!:

    once your army gets bigger,
you cant go into battle without a dread!
and scouts are always useful (preffrably with sniper rifles)

a unit of veterens with a rhino make a fine escort for your armies commander/ chaplain/ librarium

and if you know you'll be playing against Eldar alot,
consider a librarium with a pychic hood (specially if they're Ulthwee)

    and thats my.......1, 2 , 3, 4....
    $0.05 cents
