I had an interesting battle against Sisters the other day in which my friend and I agreed on some major cheese. I'd just bought the Deceiver for my Necrons, and he had a Grand Master as an ally for his Sisters, so we agreed to play a 1000 point army with both characters included. I wiped out most of his mech units immediately, so the game was over on turn one, but the GM deepstruck in and we finished the battle with a Deceiver/GM showdown. He died, the D didn't, but only due to an unlucky roll on his part. That Nemesis force weapon scares the crap out of me. By all rights, both characters should have died in the battle. That's a GM sacrificing himself in order to take out a 300 point model. Yikes!
Love the army, by the way, even though I keep hearing it's really hard to win with. If my painting skills had been up to the challenge, I'd have chosen it over Necrons (got to love that dybrushing metallics for a beginning painter).
Heh, GM's can yield some fun "showdown" fights, sure enough. My personal favorite was against the Tyranid army of a good friend of mine. The game boiled down to my Grand Master assaulted by his Hive Tyrant. Well, he rolled first, and the Tyrant is quite a beastly thing. It dealt enough wounds on the charge so that my Grand Master was well and truly dead, but since we were striking simultaneously, I still had the off chance to do some damage. Suffice it to say that I *just* managed to inflict one wound, passed my psychic test on the force weapon, and our commanders annihilated each other in a truly epic fashion.
Good times for all =)
Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
If you're intruiged by doctors who are also ninjas, then this is the webcomic for you!
I agree, GM vs Tyranids is greaT
Nothing like going through carnifex's like butter and ending up dueling the hive tyrant (which can be a bit tricky if you dont shoot his body guards first) D:!!
Much must be risked in war.
Blood Angel Stormraven Conversion Work In Progress.
Wow you guys had a Deciever and a GM in 1000 point battle?
Hehe yeah i love GM's against Nid Armies, although my best kill with a GM was a Nightbringer, man that was epic only happened once though
I should keep a list of awesome things my GM has killed hmmm...
