Heya all! I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned in this forum before, but I had a quick search and only found a couple of references. I feel its worth a nice shiny new thread!
What are your thoughts on the new blood angels landspeeders? Specifically, the ability to take both an assault cannon AND a typhoon launcher on the same landspeeder, giving a grand total of 3 HB shots, 4 AC shots, and a typhoon shot for the one vehicle?
Do you think its a typo?
Do you think its deliberate?
Do you think its a typo, but you are going to use/abuse it anyway? Or do you feel this kind of thing isn't abuse?
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
The new land speeders are dodged up the batty. There's all sorts of stuff you can do with the new codex format...the wording is pretty horrendous.
It's a pretty full loadout for such a lightly armoured vehicle, so I'd imagine it would be a bit of a gamble. Land speeders, in my experience, tend to die if they ever get shot at, and if they're toting that many guns they're gonna get shot at.

Mr_Wayne: "Some people believe that the World Eaters do not field any ranged weaponry. Those people often die at a distance."
I don't really care for speeders, but I find the missiles to be a useless point sink and again as ZP said it's just asking lascannon me! with all those expensive weapons....
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
All they have done is up gun, down armour'd and painted a great big target on it. In principle it works as it has a long/medium/short range weapon system and as it gets closer it hits harder. But unless you squadron it up there isn't any real reason to use it. I'll have to see if it even hits a table at my store befor I comment on practicallity.
breath, sight, squeeze.
now double tap just for grins
and Another One bite's the dust.
A bolter round for all that oppose the Emperor.
I think it's obvious from the wording that the intent was that out of a squadron of 3, one could be a typhoon and 2 could be tornados...but if you only had one, you could configure it as either/or.
I'm sure they were trying to simply limit the number you could put on the board to reflect the "rarity" if each type...tornados being somewhat more available than typhoons...
But the wording is so jacked up I had to read it several times the first time I looked at the codex to figure out what the RAW actually said.
It could lead to a super-gunship, but would still suffer from the same drawbacks, so I don't think GW is going to be quick to rewrite anything.
This is just a further evidence that they don't take the time to really proofread what they write. Probably because this stuff is churned out under a tight deadline. It's scary to think how little opportunity they allow for playtesting and validation of their rules before they publish.
